MY FACE! I'm 24 years old and still get spots, its so stressful. Does anyone know a really good cream/wash/remady that can help clear my face up of spots ready for my big day, I'll cry if I'm still spotty on my wedding day. I usually got about 5 or 6 at a time dotted over my face, and no amount of foundation covers them up :( xx

You might need to start having regular facials starting now. Your local beauty college may do them for a reasonable price. My skin can be very hit and miss and Im 35 but while I was at college a few years ago I started to have regular facials and my skin was beautiful!

Just be cautious if you go to see a doctor that they don't put you on crazy steroids to kill the spots, they did that to me and they ruin your skin for a year or so, it's like having a chemical peel.

I seem to have my skin under control and that's just from having a routine, I make sure I use clean&clear scrub in the shower every morning, clean thoroughly and moisturise before going to bed. Then a more thorough moisturising session once a week.
If you have slightly dry skin then Clinique has a very good range, that's worked really well for my sister who now has skin that looks like porcelaine (the lucky cow).

i have the same problem, am 21. mostly on my chin, but i have been using clinique soap and that has worked quite well for me, is quite expensive but worth it. the moisturiser is also lovely. i think its a case of trying different ones, i know i had tried loads before this one xxx

Mrs Brain - I am a beauty therapist, And I'd suggest finding a daily cleanser that works for you (everyone's skin is different, if you know your skin type I can tell you more, it's not oily just because you have spots) Also start and use this along with an exfoliator, toner and moisteriser, twice daily. (morning and night, obviously) and this should clear up your skin.
Maybe finding a reasonably priced beauty college for a facial once a week/fortnight would also work for you, but just be sure to find out which products they are using and why (my experience with beauty therapy students is that a lot of them are the stereotypical ditsy blondes) There are some good ones though, If she can tell you what she's using and why, then try and book regular appointments with her, rather than keeping changing, as this will not help.
And there they will tell you which products will suit your skin, which I can't tell you as I do not know your skin type/condition

Sorry for the looong reply.. but I hope this helps!
oh, and if you're not going to go for a facial of 2, try a home mud mask once a week instead, straight after exfoliating, but before toning and moisturising! In that order :) x

Oh and also.. STOP using soap on your face!!! x
EDIT: this was not a shout or aimed at you.. just emphasising how bad soap is.. then looked and it sounded slightly abrupt, sorry about that. x

is it acne? if so, it can be due to a hormone inbalance in which case it is best to go the dr's. they don't have to give you chemicals to peel your skin off. My dr tried anti-biotics first and then i changed the pill i was on and my skin cleared up in a couple of months and i only get the occaisional spot now (which is probably due to my bad diet!)

right start by drinking loads of water through the day
use bicarb of soda as an exfoliant (sounds strange but works and is gentler than most products out there)
do not use soap on your face.
be kind to your face and stop picking!!!!
avoid make up at least 2 days a week to let your skin breath
clean your skin before going to bed
change your pillow cases every week (germ breeding ground)
try not to get hair products on your face

    hope that helps

Ask your doctor.. When I used to get spots I tried all sorts of creams and face washes, even herbal medicines and they didn't do anything. Then the doctor gave me some tablets just one a day and cleared my face up totally... didn't even get any hormonal spots.
    :D

I'm a beauty therapist so I may be able to advise you a little foundation blocks your pores so maybe try not to wear any if possible, if your skin is oily try and get a non oil based foundation, when using concealer don't dab the brush on the spot it can make them spread if its on your forehead pin your fringe back, cleanse tone moisturise daily 2ce day and also scrub and face mask 1ce a week plus steam. drink at least 8 glasses of water daily and try not to touch or squeeze the spots, some products and be to harsh on some peoples faces , dermalogic is excellent and so is elemis. Doctors can give you somethings aswel doctors put me on dianette (the combined pill) and my face hasn't given me much jip still hope this helps =) xx

have you tried a face steamer....I have trouble with uneven skin and spots, and it works. My aunt told me I need to exfoliate 3 times a week, cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day and steam once a week! saying that, it doesnt sound cheap!

Mrs Brain if you are on the pill you could always ask your doctor to change it!! I was on Microgynon but went to my doctor as when I'm stressed my skin flares up and I get a bit spotty so wanted something to combat this and she changed my pill to Dianete which helps with skin problems it's really good but they don't like you being on it for a long period of time so I got a 6month course to do me up until the wedding then I will go back on microgynon!!! xx

act facial peels they come in differnt % depending on the depth of peel you want! however they do make your face sensitive to weather all weather and you need to wear sunscreen even for cold days, your shin will peels for approx 4 days but blemishes should dry out, now some places are expensive however your local college is always looking for models to practise on and they are very well supervised, lve been to mine they only collect donations, plus you will get loads of other advice from them xx

I might go back on the pill - clears up skin and prevents things happening on honeymoon. Just need to leave it as close to wedding as possible so I don't put weight on!
