I'm trying to find a veil and my head is spinning, there's so many! I've had a search on here for similar threads which have been helpful but what sort of veil is best to go with my dress? ( there's pics in my photo albums). I don't really fancy a long one like chapel/cathedral length but not sure what length to actually go for - elbow, fingertip etc? Any thoughts? xx

I think waist length would look lovely with your dress. Because there's so much detail to it. I would go for a veil with the odd sparkle on it so its not too much and doesn't take over the dress. Your dress is gorgeous by the way. U look lovely.

I think the veil in the picture is too long it hides you, I would wear something shorter with sparkles xx

Haha I forgot I had a pic of me wearing a veil with my dress! I think I do quite fancy having sparkles on it, just to tie in with my dress. I've read somewhere (can you tell I've been googling advice on choosing a veil all day lol) and it said if there's detailing on the back of your dress then the veil shouldn't cut off part way down the detailing, it should either finish before the detailing starts or be longer but one sheer layer so you can see the detailing through it.. does that make sense? Mine has sparkly bits all down the back (I don't think I have a pic of the back of it in my pics but if you google there are a few..) so I'd either need to go for quite a short one or about waist length I think?

Gorgeous dress!! I have the same dilema :( and like you have been googling but to no avail (no pun intended) lol!! with your dress i would say quite a short veil so you see the detail at the back and love sparkly ones too :) xx

What dress do you have Amy? Lol I need to stop looking at them now, I'm getting myself too confused! I'm off to a wedding fair tomorrow with my sister so can hopefully try some on then, although obviously I won't have my dress on.

On the upside, I'm almost there with sorting my tiara (have found a lady to make one how I want it) and found a few hairstyles I like :-)

Right I'm making some progress lol! I've been emailing a lady who makes custom veils, her website is great, there's so much info about the different types of veils. She said if there is detailing on the back of the dress then it's best to either go for a short veil which finishes above the detailing, or go for one which covers it (but is sheer so you can see through it) - apparently you shouldn't go for one that cuts off part way through the detailing?

I don't really like the look of the short ones so I think I'm going to go for a longer one and just get a single layer one (as I don't want a bit that covers my face for the ceremony and I just prefer the look of the single layer ones I think). I don't want a really long floor length one but I'm thinking somewhere around waist/hip length.
