I am getting married July 2018, we have the venue, photographer, stationary booked, rings have been ordered, but wondered when we can start buying the other things, like the glass jars for the sweet table, I would like to get the older bridesmaids dressing gowns, hangers for the dresses that are dated ect when would people start buying these things?
    Thank you

We get married July 2018 and we have started getting little things in just now. We wont be getting dresses until next year though purely because I don't want to buy them and they don't fit. We have our flowers, h2bs kilt pin we are buying bits and pieces each month when we get paid. xx

I would start buying now as it means you chip off the cost as you go along so don't feel it so much.

The only thing I would be wary of is clothes as sizes may change between now and the wedding.

I'd also start buying bits and bobs now. We booked our wedding 2 years in advance and starting chipping away at things straight away - it's spread the cost for us and also the stress!! Most things have been done for months and months now so we can enjoy the run up to our wedding instead of feeling really stressed and overwhelmed at the things that need doing.

Thank you all, I won't be getting the actual dresses/ groom wear till a lot closer, it's just the little things, I was thinking that it would make it easier on costs if got bits here and there, so it's nice seeing that others are saying about starting now.

I too have already brought lots of the little things ahead of our wedding November 2017. I have cardboard boxes filled with thank you gifts, decor, vases and bridesmaid accessories. Last week I made a special trip to a shop to buy some tealight holders that are perfect for our theme. The lady in the shop looked at me like I was mad when I told her how far away the wedding was but I couldn't care less. It's helping make the costs less painful and means next year in the run up to the wedding I won't have to sweat the small stuff.

I would get it while you see it, there's been a couple things I lv see and wish I bought them as you can't find them anymore, but it's so much better not rushing around nearer the time X

As long as you have the storage space then get it when you see it! Especially if it's something you really want because it might not be available next year or the year after. And like the other ladies have said, you won't notice the cost so much! Good luck :)

I'm getting married 24th March 2018 and we have started buying little bits and pieces. The stop shelf of my towel cupboard now has the wedding box with some decorations we have bought. I bought a beautiful old leather book of poetry which we plan on using for our reading.

We are trying to make decisions and get something each month. Or at least that's the plan!
