h2b couldnt pic best man...his best old school friend is obvious choice but me and him dont get on and chris hasnt seen him in 2 years. he has a twin brother, his dad, our eldest son or another close friend!!!! so he finally picked his brother last nite, hes going to ask him on sat......then.......this "best" old friend rings him TODAY out of blue....so now he dosnt no what to do, he thinks its a strange he rang today.
all he rang for was to brag about his new car, he never asked how me or kids are, chris told him we engaged, he said oh congrats then STAGGGG NITTTEEEEEE!!!!! and started talking about himself again!!!
I dont want to give chris my opinion cos I really want him to pic who HE wants - I just dont want him, to want him!!!!!!!!!

I know exactly what you mean, I dislike Colin's best mate (who may be the best man) but he's in 2 minds of 2 of his mates. Im praying it's the other 1 but have a feeling it will be the one I don't like lol.

It is a bummer but the Best Man is the only real choice the men get (unless we're nice and let them have opinions on other aspects of the wedding plans hehe) but it should be who he thinks would be reliable and deserves the honour.

You can't really say to him "I don't want you to have said friend as your best man because I don't like him" Put the shoe on the other foot for a second "I don't want you to have your BFF as your MOH cos I think she's horrible" It doesn't work out too well and won't help.
You can hope he sees the light and chooses someone who actually cares about him but if you feel like you need to say something then try "What about twin brother? He's been with you your whole life, he's uncle to your kids and he's about to become my BIL. Seems like the best choice to me" Then leave it at that and say no more on the subject.

Its just one of those things you have to trust the men over. It can be hard, (I had to keep the mouth shut for a year while Pidge chose) but you wouldn't like it if they tried to choose your bridesmaids.

im in the same boat babe, although ive never met said BEST friend ive heard loads about him.In the 2 and a half years me and h2b have been together they have texted and met up about 6- 7 times. Apparently he doesnt show emotion well so h2b never told him about our son till he was 4 months old because of this and only because he wants him as godfarther :-( He doesnt even know were engaged yet thats h2b's job at the christening, that and asking him to be best man. Im reseveing judgement till i meet him. Fingers crossed hes nice lol.

I have been with my h2b for just over a year. His best friend from school hasn't been in touch apart from the odd text in about 2 years, as they had abit of a falling out when he split up with his ex about the same time.
But H2b was sure he wanted him to be his BM, and I wanted them to get back in touch really as I'm in touch with my best friends from school.
Well he came and stayed this weekend, and was made up when he was asked to be BM when they played golf on Sunday!!
LOL.
Now he wants to come down again next month for another weekend. So hopefully thats them sorted and back as best friends again. He did get a bit drunk and was saying ohhhh he's (h2b) my best friend, blah blah blah!!!
