Hi last weekend my friend announced she wanted her wedding the week before mine and did I mind..of course i said no, but in hindsight is seeming damn cheeky as i'd booked mine months ago and i will be stressed and busy with my plans but now have to deal with hers. We're both gonna be each otheres maids. To top that off i'll have my in laws staying with me the whole time and have to deal with them on top of 2 weddings. Do you think she was out of order? At the time i thought great we can share stuff but now i think it'll be 'double trouble'

I had a similar problem with my cousin booking her wedding for a fortnight after ours. I was incredibly upset but have just had to learn to live with it. If it had been the other way around her mum would have forced us to move ours.

Did she have a good reason for booking it a week before yours? Will she be going off on honeymoon straight after the wedding?

TBH she did ask you what you thought and you said you didn't mind. She won't steal our thunder as it is your day and it doesn't matter if she got married 1 day, 1 week or 1 year apart no one can ever take your day away from you. I'm sure being a bride herself that she will know what stress you are under and won't expect her to put on you that much.

My MoH and my other friend have done this, my MoH was engaged before her and booked the church and venue for a date, they she came and told us both that she has the same church as my MoH and that it is a week before hers.

She won't steal your thunder like jo said as it's your day. If you're each other's bridesmaid's then obv it's going to be extra-busy, but really, it doesn't need to be too much more stressful; surely as BM you won't have to do that much?.. (might be wrong on this as I'm not going with tradition but basically my BMs don't really have to do anything, just stand there with flowers and look nice, and obv organise the hen-do (though I don't mind organising this, they've said they want to so I'm letting them)) Just make sure you're organised and everything is done before your friend's wedding so you don't have too much to worry about.

Ultimately she did ask and you said it was fine, so you can't really blame her
