ok ladies just wondering if anyone else has had any dress searches or experiences with berketex bride as i am going on wednesday and would be interested on any feedback GOOD OR BAD on your experience with them ?
CommentAuthorPossum
I had a great experience. I got the first dress I tired on there (although I got it 2nd hand from someone) and they were really helpful and friendly. The one thing they did do that annoyed me was not ask if I want the dress, they asked when I'd be making my appointment for fitting. I'd said I liked the dress, but not that I was going to buy it! It feels like they're guilting you into it. They also do really good offers, such as 20% off a certain designer one week, then free accessories etc. xx

ooo sounds promising -- the worst thing is and this may sound naughty :S but im going to get a feel for what suits me and what doesnt then getting my dress from ebay :)
dont know what to say to them when the say do you want that one or not ??? gonna say as its a bit early im just shortlisting potential dresses -- do you think it is ok for me to do this or not ?
CommentAuthorPossum
That's perfect All shops know you'll probably visit a few. So just don't be pressured. They probably won't let you take photos but. Have a look on my profile - that's the dress from Berketex I got. xxx
CommentAuthorOjsmummy
thats beautiful hun -- wishing i could find a shop that would let me take pics as my mum lives so far away she cant make it and i would love her input :(
oh well just dont like it when people pressure sale me i feel awkward so hopefully will all go smoothly :)
I think a lot of shops do. If you ask for the details and say you don't know when you will want an appointment so you'll call them, you may get one sales call and that should be it x
CommentAuthorOjsmummy
yeah thats a good idea hun -- im a bit nervous to be honest :(
CommentAuthorPossum
I think everyone is! It's so exciting - very amazing to see yourself in a wedding dress too :D xxx

Iv not heard anything bad about em and im doint exactly the same as you gona try on dresses in a few different places then prob buy my dress off the net much cheaper good luck wih it hun x
My sister went to Berketex Bride on a 20% sale day, she too just wanted to try some on to see what style suit then was going to buy on bay of e but she fell in love with the 3rd dress she tried on & was walking around in it for like 45 minutes & ended up buying it. They let her pay for it in instalments over a year interest free which worked out about £50 a month. She just went back for her dress fitting last week & it is a little gaping at the top as when she first got measured she was breast feeding so she smaller up top now but the lady said she would just put a bone in so if she bends over it doesn't gape open anymore & she said she would do it for free (their alterations are quite pricey) she gets married in 3 weeks so watch this space! X

I went to the one in Manchester and the lady there was brill. I didn't buy the dress although it was my favorite dress i tried on that day. since we where only there to get ideas for my dad to design my dress but it was still a fab shop.

I got my dress with them i went to the wedding show in nec earlier this year and spent most of day trying dresses on but got to this one and it was perfect the lady that helped me get in and out of them (and had said to me i know its not the colour but just try it on any way) was amazing so much so i ordered the dress from her shop in Birmingham.
3 weeks later she called to say that they had a similar dress in the colour mine was being made in and did i wanna come up and try it on to see what colour was like i booked a late afternoon appointment and was only one in store they treated me so well pic of dress is on profile and get real one in dec xx

I'm going back there to look at tiaras - thankfully I was left alone when I went as I wasnt bothered about trying dresses on as I'd already bought mine and was with H2B.
The days are flying by, can't wait :)

My sister went to Berketex in Bristol to look for a dress with only 6 weeks until the wedding, they were really rude to her to her, told her she would have to buy second hand because no wedding dress shop would be able to get her a dress in that time. We went round the corner to abother shop who were fantastic and couldnt have been more helpful.

I have ordered my dress from Berketex Peterborough and they were lovely! I chose the Sandra dress when I originally came in for a sale appointment but they gave me 20% off so I thought given I was in love with it I could stretch a bit! (with the help of daddy panda hehe!) great experience with them, haven't had my fittings with them yet ofc but my cousin got her dress with them and it fitted perfectly :) hope this helps :)

I live in Lincoln but my parents live in Peterborough :) Who did you have for your appointment? I had liz! Yeah I think I tried on eight or nine before I put Sandra on again, you want to make sure you've got the right one don't you? Better to be safe than sorry!

Do you know i can't remember her name lol oppss :-( She was the older of 3 ladies in there tho and was lovely, really helpful. I picked several to try on then when it came to trying on she picked out mine and said "I THINK THIS ONE WILL REALLY SUIT YOU" and she was soooo right hehehe.
I did try on a few veils but it REALLY didnt feel right so i think im just gonna have the tiara that my friend found for me there with my hair half and half................didnt see any jewellery so might have to ask when i go with my sister to pay the deposit :-)

I hope Berketex Norwich doesn't lose my dress! I went in and paid my deposit this morning, added a hoop and a gorgeous tiara to the payment plan. They were really helpful and even though I'd left my cash at home by mistake they let me write out a cheque.

I got 10% off the dress, hoop, and tiara. The alterations are a bit pricy (£180) but she did tell me because I was buying the dress there the groom would get to hire his outfit for free with them and they offered me a buy x amount of BM dresses and get X amount free. There was no pressure at any part. And it was so different to the shop I went into first yesterday, the woman in Prima Donna was really off and quite rude

hey,
Ive just joined this site.
I was wondering if anyone knows of someone looking to buy the Sandra, Berketex dress. Size 8-10 and has only been worn once - seriously as good as new. Much appreciated.

ive ordered mine from here and the service was fantastic they couldnt do enough for me,and they even knocked £200 off my dress aswell,i would recomend them x

I tried on 2 there on Friday - only went in for a little mooch and to get an idea of styles / prices - the girls were really lovely in there and dragged me in to try the dresses on before I'd even had a chance to blink ha! The only thing I didn't like was that she wouldn't write down the designer or model of dress so i had to remember it when I got home...She wasn't pushy for me to buy there and then but did take my contact details to ring me next month for a yay/nay.
But go when there's a discount - the dress I loved had 10% off and interest free payment over 10 months! Worth it if you don't have the cash there and then!
