i keep getting dirty looks when i mention getting married. but i get dirty looks just walking down the street but they are dieing down now. as im also a young mum of 2 and i was 18 when i had my 1st and now im 21 (well 4 hours off). people now think that it is wrong to get married at a young age. they think that it isnt goin to last but ive been with h2b for nearly 5 years now and its lasted. i just wish that they would understand and be happy for us instead of looking down at us because we are young.

I agree .. ignore them!! years ago in the 60's lots of people were married at 18/19 years old and have lived happily ever after! Frankly it's none of their business. xx

Im 28 but look younger (i still get ID'd for cigs... be glad when i give up lol) H2B is alot older than me at 53 but looks younger so dread the "when is it your daughters getting married" comment! I learnt when we first got together that everyone has an opinion and if its a bad one rise above it. Shouldnt have to prove anything to anyone let alone people that barely no you if at all!! xx

yer it is i havent really thought about my bday coz of the wedding but had a party on sat and that was brill my best mate came back for the weekend from spain so it was cool see her. im asked id evern to do the lottery!! its a pis* take with the way people look down on you i get so angry with it. but the good advantage of looking younger is taht when i dont have the kids i can get on the buses for a child lol cheaper

Family and friends have had no problem about our age, Mum said it was about time he proposed, am worried that I'll get bad service when it comes to shopping for wedding dress though. xx

my daughter has been with her BF for 10yrs, they moved in together last year lovely flat, they are so well suited pauls a history teacher and suzanne is a retail manager in debenhams, she just told me on saturday she would love to get married next year, l hope she does l'm so excited and she is still only 25years old, it's all about being happy with each other nither want any kids for some years to come xx

Spent the last few weeks looking at houses with my mum as H2B away, many times we had to remind estate agents that i was the one buying not her!! Drives me mental when ppl assume you are younger! My sis is 17 and 6ft1... oddly enough she has no prob getting served for anything!!!! lol x

I think people forget, back in the old days it was normal for girls to get married at 16, 17 or 18, so why is it a problem now? Its everyones personal choice. Alot of pepole thought I was too young to have a baby when we started trying, I was 21. But we had been together almost 4 years and living together a year. I needed a baby, I was so depressed becuased I wanted a baby so badly. I say its no ones business and they should keep their snotty nosed opinions to themselves! lol

Claire behave you're not old, I'm 21 and get very excited when I get IDd if I am lucky it's once a year, when I started college I had a pic of my nephew who was about 6 months and a pic of my sis and cousin when they were little (5 and 4) several people thought they where all mine. H2B only turned 22 last week, the month before we where going to a 21st and he was carrying the 21 balloon, our taxi driver laughed and told him no one would believe he was that young - he was 21, I don't think he's been IDd since he was 16. As a general rule people have always thought I'm at least 5 years older than I am, and I've no idea how old they think Tom is, he does have a bald patch, receeding hairline and greying eyebrows though (I've known him since he was 15 and the only part of that that's new is the greying eyebrows). I've only actually asked one person (other than H2B) if he thinks we're too young because I knew it was the only person that wouldn't bring it up but would answer me honestly - my dad and he told me if it was some other couple he'd say yes, wait a while but he knows us and knows we're right for eachother and we've already known eachother twice as long as my parents had when they got married (we've known eachother nearly 7 years)

omg i feel like an old bride lol cece ur funny :) i'm hitting 33 this yr ! though i certainly don't feel the age ! I have to say though to all being discriminated against for the age appearence- forget what the comments of them people, they're probs just failed somewhat in their own relationships (as majority of us have done already ) but they ll be thinking if i couldn't succeed at my age how are they or even why could they succeed at a young age, the younger generation choices are frowned upon, when they should be mostly embraced and given the respect to decide what they want. I was 19 when i had my son and i got tutted at and stared at when going out as i literally looked about 12 at the time, they all presumed that i was a child mum- ignore them follow ur heart because our hearts lead the world !

I'm 22 and h2b is 23 but we'll be 24 and 25 when we get married. Every wedding fair I went to people started talking to my mum or my sister instead of me so I've started going just with edd so it's obvious it's me who's getting married lol. It's so rude people judge just by what you look like x

my bloke gets it too, the other week there was an announcement in church about something to do with helping us find a house and afterwards a bloke came up to my h2b and started having a bit of a go at him for getting married so young (he has just turned 21). we didnt know this bloke and jon was so shocked he didnt say anything, but two of the ladies overheard and went over and defended him!!!! i was amazed, what gives people the right to comment about something that is none of their business??!!!!

it was a baptism service, so the bloke wasnt actually a christian, just there coz he had to be!!!! everyone at church has been amazing, at the moment loads of them are helping us look for a house!!!!!

i don't get peole sometimes! they should be happy that you want to make this commitment to each other, like most have said ignore them, i think sometimes with people its a jealousy thing to be honest!, I'm 30 and h2b is 42 we both don't look are ages so when people ask how old he is and dont know me well or age they give me a funny look as they think im alot younger haha x

100 years ago everyone married young!!! My nan was 19 when she got married and next year will be their golden wedding anniversary. My singing teacher was 21 when she got married and they celebrated their golden wedding last year. If you are meant to be together then you will be together forever and no opinions other than your own matter x

iv just turned 22 my h2b is 31, i look older (dont know if thats a good thing or not!), so i never get any of the comments from people we dont know but i can see how it would be very patronising. its nothing to do with anyone else, i definatly know in my mind that getting married is the right thing for me. iv lived on my own since i was 16, iv done the whole going out all the time thing, iv had a good job but lost it as iv been very ill and may never be able to work again, so being looked after by my husband is definatly where my life is supposed to go and i couldnt be happier! xx

I've just turned 22 and my h2b is 24. We have been together for almost five years and living together for just under a year. Dale actually proposed to me while we were still living at parents homes so when we moved in together it felt right to start planning the wedding...although we can't really afford it!! Lol. Both sets of parents are going to help us out and we don't have to pay the remaining fee (for wedding) until 3 months before the actually day which allows us to save x

We've now known each other a year, whoop whoop.
My Mum and Dad were 17 & 19 when they got married, and 36 years later are still very much in love. I was 23 when I married Mr Wrong, but the fact it went wrong was nothing to do with age. Just took me 15 years to realise he was Mr Wrong :-$

All the bridal shops ive been in have been great but for high st shops such as debenhams some ppl are a bit funny Oh well as this woman got snotty with my yday when i was buying my wedding underwear, i walked out and left it all on the counter so sod them. her fault she lost a rather high sale. x
