Hi all. There is nothing I can do about this one but I just need to let off a little steam and rant.

We're having a military wedding at a military venue. We booked the ceremony back in January and wrote a letter then requesting to have our reception there too. We waited and waited for a reply but got nothing, so I started making phonecalls. 3 weeks ago I was told a letter was in the post giving us the permission we need to get everything booked and organised. The letter never arrived. 2 weeks ago I phoned again and was told it was being sent that day. So I phoned the guys that organises events and the caterer and made appointments to see them both tomorrow.

I just opened my emails and found one from the organiser saying the meeting tomorrow has to be postponed because permission has not been given. So I got straight on the phone to the man that's getting me the letter to find out what's going on. It turns out that we actually don't have permission, and won't know if we can get it until at least May!! So we can't move forwards with any planning until then.

I've had save the date cards at home since February but can't send any out until we know what's going on as we don't know how many people we can afford to invite until we know where it will be and the cost. I'm just really fed up and frustrated as there is nothing we can do but wait. I really want to start planning the wedding properly but we can't do a thing :(

Wow, that is incredibly frustrating. I feel for you. Is there anyway you can have a meeting with the person that grants permission and then get confirmation of the process and anything that is needed in writing? I'd be worried that they'll just give you the run around again in May :(

I would be asking what state our militry is in if this is how the run a milirty venue. Tell them you understand tehy are busy but you need that letter to move on with organizing your wedding. It should not take 4 months to say yes or no it should take 4 minnutes to sort out xx
