Has anyone booked wedding venues/photographers/flowers/cakes etc and got a real bargain? please let me and everyone else know how and where you got it and what other ideas or tips you have for us all to get a good deal, this wedding planning really eats money! I for one have only found a photography company that charges by the hour (£50!) and you pay for your photos after the wedding and they have a payment plan aswell, and also my venue is free other than the charge for the registrar and the ceremony to cover their licence which is 150 so not bad! anyone else made huge savings? give me some tips please! lol :)

Hello, I got a great deal on my venue its a best western and I got everything for under £2000.
Ceremony and venue hire Drinks for ceremony, meal and toast 4 course wedding breakfast buffet chair cover and linen hire Bridal suite
Im sure there is more in the package but you get the idea. Also instead of real flowers I have bought wooden bouquets from the bay of e. They are stunning and have saved me £150!! I've saved on the car by borrowing a friends and we have 2 friends who dable in photography taking photos for us for free :-) I have also bought my dress from china and its a copy. Have saved £1100 on the dress. Using rockabilly dresses for bm dresses at £25 each and bought all my decorations from the bay of e.

Hi FutureMrsPite, have you checked how much you will be charged for the photographs after including an album etc as that may push the price up considerably.
My photographer is £1300 and I get her for as long as I want on the day, a cd with all the pictures, a photo album with over 800 pictures and she also does an engagement shot to get to know her style and get comfortable with the camera and we get 6 pictures free.

Hi all, sounds like u have all got great bargains and r gonna have a great wedding day! Bex im not too sure how much the photos etc are but ive emailed the company and asked so waiting to hear what they say, to be honest i dont have the budget for a photographer really so if they r cheap i can do it if not i might just ask friends and family with cameras! Rockabilly chick, what is rockabilly and where can i get them? lol 25 quid sounds good to me! I have found my venue which is charging 1500 for the ceremony, reception buffet, wine, canapes, a bar tab and 2 nights in one of their rooms so i think i got a good deal! its a small wedding mind and a small venue so the ceremony is 40 ppl and reception is 60. my mother in law is doing our flowers as a gift, just really need to save on dresses, cake, rings, etc my dress is 850 in the shops, dunno if i can trust getting a copy :/ kaz and dec all sounds great to me, and thanx kath x

My reception venue is a hotel right on the seafront and it is free to hire if you are having food, which starts from only £8 per head. Best bargin by far

Just got a nice bargain on BHS site. Got the two youngest bridesmaids their shoes for £6!!! They are really pretty as well. Worth a looksie to see if you can find any bargains as well.

My dress was a bargain, so keep an eye out for dress sales, it was by Alexia and £900 down to £350 as it was a sample in the shop, having a dry clean and they've done me a proper fitting, will be good as new and its stunning :-)
