    Hi ladies
We are not marrying in our parish church but have had the banns read there as required. We received the cetificate throuh the post yesterday to say they had read them but they have spelt my middle name wrong (Jane rather than Jade). Do you think I need to go back and tell them or does it not matter? I'm not sure how much of a legal document it is to say they've been read and no one objected like giving notice for a civil service. X

I think you may need to go back and ask them to correct it. I would if it was me x

I would check with the vicar who will be marrying you, as that's who will need to see it and who has to be satisfied that the banns have been read.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Do you have to attend all 3 of the dates they read out banns?

Thanks ladies. I think I'll check just to be sure.

No Mrs Wade. Our banns were being read in both churches (as they have be read in the one you're marrying in and the one in the parish you live in if different) on the same Sundays so we went to the one we are marrying in the first and third time and our parish church in between. I think they generally expect you to be there for at least one time but more is better. X
