    Hi ladies,

Sorry I am going to ask a really stupid question. We are getting married in the same church as my parents which isnt near my home. The vicar has emailed me to tell me what days our banns were being read. Do I need to have the banns read in my local church too? (I dont attend regularly) My vicar hasnt mentioned anything. My vicar is away until our meeting on 22nd July, 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding. If I do need to get banns read locally, itll be too late to ask the vicar at our meeting......

Yes you do. The vicar at the other church wont be able to marry you if he doesn't have the banns certificate from your parish church saying that they were read there too. You will also have to pay for these to be read at your local parish church and for the certificate (Around £25 I think) xxx
