Hi, I transfered 18 months worth of wedding savings from one bank to another. The savings have left one bank and suddenly disappeared? They aren't in the other bank, not even as uncleared funds. I remember it saying it may take 3 day, but surely it should show as uncleared? I've have checked the account numbers etc and they all match. Is it me just worrying?

My bank takes 3 days to show anything over £250! I once panicked like you and rang them and they said it's to ensure that you actually did make the transaction, (you would probably notice if you hadn't and get in touch with them.) Give them a ring if you're worried and remember the weekend doesn't count xxx

that's why I kept my seperate account for the wedding with my original bank. Can do it all online and money doesn't go "missing" so saves me worrying!

yeah me too, have an online ISA that we pay into each month. And can move money between that and my bank account with only a few clicks which is great. And its instant thankfully!

funny enough it does take a while something to do with back ground checks on the transfer just to make sure it's not money laundering ect x your funds will be fine as you are covered with the bankers draft ( receipt) xx

I have one bank for my wages one bank for my phone bill and other bills and i have another bank for the wedding money. (martyns mum has the card as i will spend it on things and then change my mind but after xmas i am going to buy so i need it back) It takes ages to tranfer stuff from one bank to another. I find if you transfer cash it goes in the same day but if you do a bank transfer it will take a while.

Hey hun, was about to comment then seen that you have got it checked. I'm a branch manager of a building society and just to reassure you the money cannot "get lost" as they have confirmed to you it make take 3 days (can even taken up to 5 in some instances) if no luck after 5th day you should contact them and ask them to put a trace on it. Sure it'll be fine though x
