    Hi,
We've been looking at bands in our local area (near Stockport, Manchester) and also across the country a my fiance would like a particular style. The quotes we have had are through an agency and the cheapest was £1850! We tried looking for each band separately to get details for them so we could directly but could only get the agency. Is this is a normal price?! Should we go directly and try to skip out their agency or is this not the 'Done thing'? I know it will cost quite a bit for a good band but this just seems rather expensive!
The style we were after is a bit rockabilly, ones that play well known songs but in their own style, funk it up a bit! I don't really know how else to describe it!
Thanks in advance for any advice :-)

Agency bands tend to pull from a pool of musicians so there isn't actually a "band" that you can get to outside of the agency.

Have you tried looking at local music pages on fb etc?

Like MrsK2b said maybe try places like FB or even maybe look for gigs where there are battle of bands and maybe pop along as you would see a range of bands there :)

Try your local college/university they are usually full of bands wanting a gig and will prop cost you pence compare to "professional bands" who knows you may get the next big thing to play at your wedding!
