I got a call the other day that my band had to cancel because they cant get the time off work!!! I have been looking the last 3 days and anyone i have found is either booked up or costs as absolute fortune.. :( Stressing out a bit now.. What entertainment r u all having and what is the price ranges?

We are having a band, which are fantastic, they are costing us £1000, playing until 12 and then providing music until 1. For us we didn't mind spending a little more on the band as we feel it's what gives the reception atmosphere :)

you could also ask the local colleges and they should be really cheap when I enquired my old singing teacher is now head of music and she said to offer to pay them £30 per band member, but seeing as they have my singing teacher I know she wont let them do it if they suck and she will only send out the best for something like a wedding and so im going to offer £50 per band memebr and feed them (even if it is just a pack lunch)
Find out who you are & do it on purpose!

We have picked 80 very mixed songs that we want, and will put them on our ipod and will play them through the castles sound system. We will save a fortune. Our wedding reception will only be for around 50-60 max.
we have a dj provided by our recpetion venue at a cost of £250, they only allow their redident dj due to insurances etc. xx

we have a band booked costing around 800, they have a free dj service included if you want it, 2 x 60min sets, they are with a big company who have cheaper bands if your intrested i could put the link on your page?

weve a band playing from 7-12 and they are 600 quid!!! were also gonna use a ipod on their sound system and play some tunes at the end cos we know a lot will prob start leaving at midnight which gives us staying at the hotel some chill time with the bar and music ha ha ha xxx

We are having a DJ and for entertainment he does music bingo, everyone gets a card with songs and artists on and he plays snip its of lots of songs and you mark the song off your card until you get a line then a full house for a cash prize. Its really good fun and really gets the party going. Hope you get your entertainment sorted soon hun, after all its the dj/band that can really make a difference to the atmosphere. We went to see ours in action at a local quiz night and he's really good at what he does, good luck in your search x

we just went with the venues band costing £350, a friend of mine married 2 years ago, found his own band charging 500 who they like and wasn't until the night of the wedding did he find out it was also his wedding venues resident band and the venue would of only charged him £300, it may be good to look around, but when it comes to the band how are you really supposed to know what your getting? really they should be roughly playing all the same things and just there as background noise whilst your getting drunk and enjoying your day a little bit too much
