I've just had a brill idea for baloon weights...... get the baubles from christmas and fill with sand then can wrapp in organza or other fabric.......and if you have colour that may fit in with colour scheme will not have to wrapp at all...... what do you think ladies

im making my own weights too, im filling metallic paper with sand, very easy and cheap to make :-) baubles sound like a fab idea might have to do both x

im going to be having a few balloons, probably at either end of buffet table and a few bunches around the edge of the room (not sure just yet) now to find gold baubles (easy) and black baubles (not so easy) to make into balloon weights, oh and make sure they are ones you can take the top off to fill with the sand lol

Hey panther_87k. Try wilkinson for black baubles, I brought some for christmas just gone and they were about 1.50 for a pack of 12. You'll obviously have to wait un till christmas stuff come back out in the shops but black really isn't that hard to find :-)
Great idea with the baubles though, I would of used this myself but I binned all my christmas decs and doubt I'll find any in shops before november. Would of been great for me as my theme is firework and stars, midnight blue and silver.. I'm sure I would of found blue baubles with silver stars somewhere! Oh well

I've just been googling... lots of black ones about and VERY cheap.. I've also found blue with silver stars.. pack of 6 for a quid and free delivery.. I will be using this idea after all. Love it. thanks!
