Mr-LittleMissWorry and I have been taking ballroom dance lessons for a few years now, and want to learn a routine for our first dance.

We've got a bit stuck on choosing a song though :( We don't have an 'our song' but would like something romantic. Don't mind if it has lyrics or not.

The problem is that I've been pesky and decided I want a waltz, so will need a piece in 3 4 time instead of the 4 4 time that most music is in. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm starting to think we'll have to do a quickstep instead, which I also like but I'd like to know I tried my best to find a waltz song first!

Both of those are lovely, and I really like them. But it turns out my other half was wanting a more contemporary piece of music, he just hadn't mentioned that before I posted on here intiially!

Do you think we're best sticking to a waltz? I'm starting to think it'd be better to listen to lots of music to gether, pick some songs we like, then choose waltz or quickstep based on what the music is. He prefers quickstep, I like it too but I find the waltz a bit more structured which I feel more comfy with.

I would say you are best off looking at music first, also remember your dress! If you do a quickstep are you going to be more likely to stand on it or have it get in the way? A waltz is slower so there would be less chance of an accident happening! lol xx

Have you had a listen to the Overtones? They sing 'oldies' but put their own style into them. We used one of their songs for our first dance as they were someone that we both liked.
