Right, I have been searching online for a bag for my bridesmaids and i have basically decided i dont like them....any of them! none will match the grecian style dresses that they are wearing :-(
So what do you all think of them just not having a bag? I dont really know if its a done thing or not but ive had one everytime i was a bridesmaid!
If it was me id need one to put my phone, camera and fags in lol but they dont smoke, and they've got partners there that can look after their normal bags for them during the ceremony?
I really dont want to waste money on something i dont even like and that they probably wont use again!
    Opinions please?

I've been a bridesmaid twice and not been given a bag either time. I bought my own and left it with my partner to carry to the ceremony and then I collected it from him after the pictures.

Have you thought about asking someone to make them if you want them to have them but cant find the right style? I will be providing mine with bags to match their dresses as there may be certain items that they need with them (especially if its that time of the month!) One of my bridesmaids is also on a fair amount of prescribed medicines so will need somewhere to put all her tablets. But it is really up to you, if you dont feel that they need them then dont get them xxx

My adult bridesmaids will be in Grecian style dresses and I have bought them clutch bags. I did this as I want them to have wrist corsages rather than bouquets so the clutch bags will give them something to hold.
If yours are having bouquets then personally I wouldn't worry about it. Or you could get them little draw string bags that they can have round their wrists, I had one of those when I was bridesmaid and it came in handy x

I made bags for my girls, But only because I had a load of leftover fabric that wouldnt get used. If I hadnt have had it, I wouldnt have bought fabric to make bags......they look nice but they are not expected. but my worry was, if I dont get them matching bags, they will just carry there everyday bags .....all different and none matching.

Whenever I've been a BM I don't have a bag, my H2B has carried my stuff for me in his pockets ;)

I don't think I've been to any weddings where the BM's have bags, hands free to carry their bouquet, the brides bouquet and train and drinks etc.etc.

Mine wont carry their bags at the ceremony, but its just for later when they want to get their lippy or hanky ......
it will look awkward carrying their bouquets and a bag.....and like indreamland says, they wont have a free hand to help you with anything if they have their bag with them

Ma lot got some wee drawstring type ones with their dresses but they arent using them as we have a room to go to freshen up in and mobiles are being kept by their partners. X

my girls are having wrist corsages rather than posies, 2 of them have young children so they dont need the hassle of keeping a posie in their hand lol
i think ill probably stick without now, i've looked at the drawstring bags too and even though they are lovely, they are not just right.
i spoke to my mum about it and with 2 of them having young children they'll probably have everything they own in big nappy bags anyway haha :)

The lady doing my dress alterations has made bags for me and my all bridemsaids (foc) with one of the matching wraps from the bm dress, we needed to let out 2 dresses so the wrap needed cut anyway!
