I went to a wedding fair today and was so disappointed. It was held quite local to us and was being considered as our reception venue. Got there and the place was terrible, graffiti on the building made me want to turn around straight away. When we got inside there were so many exhibitors for too little space. You got pounced on and felt almost pushed to buy their stuff.
However on the plus the brochure on registry office of the local area was the most useful and found out the hire fee and register fee doesn't need to be paid in full until 4 weeks beforehand which was a relief and cheered me up a bit :)

I went to a wedding fair today and it was HORRIBLE! People were really rude and mean to me just because I'm getting married next year and haven't got a lot booked. It was very similar with the being pounched on too. I wont be going to another one! lol I'll stick to googling and looking on here for suppliers xxx

What I did was visit a lot last year (most didn't really pay me much interest, but I took their cards and noted their prices). I then spent this year getting more quotes and researching the companies. Now, as the same fairs roll around again, I feel confident booking the companies and getting their fair-only special deals. This might work for you too x

when we had our first we were put off as there was so much. However, we then got invited to crewe halls favourite suppliers fayre which was much more useful as there were only 2 reps per part of a wedding u could need and it was so much easier and less confusing.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo

@MrsMcleishtobe I had the same problem I said we hadn't booked yet and they told to hurry up and do it even though we still have just under 13 months yet. Sure you weren't at the same one lol.
Thanks I am just going to stick to the bigger ones less easy to be captured by people. We are still getting ideas at the moment. I just hate the feeling they are just after money rather then trying to help us
Well that's true I won't be going there again ever lol let alone my wedding day

Yeah same I will stay away from that company's fair from now on. I have a ticket for the one at excel so I may wait until then. I really enjoyed the first one I went to but then it's been down hill.
I know it's like how dare you not have a place yet we need your money lol. Just searching for the right place.
Thanks a lot I may just stick with the first venue we visited seems best at the moment xxx

When I went to fairs in 2010 and said we were getting married in 2012, they would say 'oh you've got plenty of time' and I would reply 'yes, but I work full-time as a teacher, which is very time-consuming and stressful and by nature, I have to be organised, so I am starting to book things now to save me the panic and stress later on and so that I can have the best choice of the best vendors'. They soon changed their tune! The best people get booked up early!

@Tinsel That is true we need to organise venues, photographer, dj and licence and Grooms suit his problem not mine lol. I have my dress and know a florist whilst already sorted rings out so not too bad planning so far.
@MrsMcleish2B Oh wow that's a long time you'd probably changed your mind by then lol xxx
