So, if my OH's family hadn't already been a huge problem and difficult in general here's another for you. My elder sister is a cakemaker and when she found out I was getting married she begged for me to do the cake and of course I said yes! Despite problems we have had in the past, lying, stealing from my mum days after she died and then my dad and then telling my whole family that I did it. As upset as I was, I forgave her I thought she was going through grief.
I've been writing to her asking about the cake and suddenly about a month ago, she stopped replying to my calls/texts/facebook messages, yet I know she is on FB because she writes to her sil who takes priority over me lol (whole other story)
My nan has been asking about the cake and every time I have had to tell her, I have no details as I have not spoken to my sister, she asked my sister why she hadn't contacted me and my sister told her that it was ME blanking HER!
So I wrote on her wall, for all to see that I am trying to talk to her, asked how she was and what ingredients she needed me to buy for the cake. Came back this evening and she has deleted it. And once again blanked me.
A little bird told me that my sister is jealous because I was having my brother's partner as my second bridesmaid and my best friend as MOH as well as my sister, my sister hates my brother's partner just because she is absolutely stunning, but she has not a spiteful bone in her so I've no idea why my sister would be so childish.
Moving on a few hours I have seen a post on FB by my sister's SIL saying she "can't wait for her holiday with the girlies" and tagged my sister and some other women I don't know. And yep, you guessed it, my sister would rather go on holiday with her other family than come to my wedding, and has left me hanging with around 50 days to go, and no cake. And she hasn't even got the decency to admit it.

My bestie has suggested we get an M&S cake too and ice it ourselves lol, I'm totally up for that. I'm just hurt and disappointed in my own sister who is supposed to be older and setting an example. She is almost 20 years older than me fgs :(

Were having a m&s cakes some of them take 21working days and the cake will be ready :) I would be hurt aswell if my own sister would do this (Hugs) Its just a nasty thing to do to family!! x

Sorry to hear she would do this to you, its such a spiteful childish reaction. You have plenty of time you can order from m & S or they sell a fruit one off the shelf which is iced and ready to decorated with flowers/cake topper. Good luck and glad you found out her dasterdly little plan before it was to late.

thats terrible thing to do especially to her own sister why couldn't she be a grown up and just admit it all a long and save you the worry. m&s do some lovely cakes and there separate tiers work out pretty cheap if you want to decorate your self just remember you need to order with 7 days notice my sister left it to late and had to get hers from the supermarket the already tiered and decorated ones have to have more notice given xx

Def think M&S cake or try a few cake makers to see what they can do! What a horrible thing ur sister has done but at the end of the day its her loss - you can go on holiday anytime but you can only watch your sister get married once (hopefully ) she will regret it and your family will be disgusted as will your guests - no excuse for the way she has behaved! Forget her and enjoy the last few weeks of planning with the people who matter and actually care about you xx

I think I willl go with the M&S cake, reason being I haven't budgeted for cake maker prices for the cake I'd chosen, it was intricate, but, I don't like cake anyway :P
Needless to say my dad is appalled and my lovely big brothers shouted at her and made her cry, they told her she is a jealous and hateful cow and that she is not welcome at their weddings, mine, or any other future family functions because she is not family lmao.

No luckily Clive they were as appalled as me that she was trying to victimize herself over the fact that all this came about from the utterly ridiculous reason of being jealous. It's all so playground. But it's all fixed now, lovely brother is buying me the cake I wanted from one of his work colleagues who is a baker :3 Good job too because I'm about skint now!

I feel so bad for people with sisters like that. Sisters should be like your best friend. Me and my sister are so close, think H2B and my BIL find it amusing we finish eachothers sentences, say the same thing at the same time, like twins and if you mess with one well you take on both of us.

Thanks for all your replies :) yes my brother would be worth his weight in gold if he actually weighed anything lol, but he's absolutely priceless and is always there to defend me when things start going wrong for me, his OH is more like a sister to me than my own ever has been and the best thing is that my OH loves both of them haha!
