We're undecided about having a photobooth, I did really want one but then I saw how expensive they could be and discounted it completely, however we were chatting yesterday and h2b says we should look into it more as they can't all be mega bucks! So I wondered a) how long should you hire one for? And b) what have other brides paid for them? We don't want to do it ourselves as we don't want the bother of it so its either find a reasonable one in the Shropshire/ north Wales area or not bother. Thanks . Xxxx

We were looking at photobooths and prices not long ago.
They all seem to be a minimum of 4 hours rental.

One of the photobooths we looked at was just a screen that looked like a tv that was sat on a plint and had VIP style ropes around it. This could take photos and record messages and i was quoted £375.

The other looked like the sort of booth youd have passport photos in and you could choose the outa colour and curtain colour and this was £575.

    Hope this helps :) x

have you thought about doing your own, ask people to just take ther own photos and put them on the book of face for your to print off. you can make your own props. maybe set up a corner with a screen, a chair and props Just married, him and her signs, wooden moustache, hats, oversized glasses etc.

its what we are thinking of doing because i just cant justify the price. x

Ive looked at prices for these too, they seem a rip off for what you get, you should definaltey think about doing it yourself before writing the idea of completelty, get a folding screen and a box of props, all you need do is look in charity shops or ask people if they can donate daft wigs/hats etc get some wooden poles to make moustaches/masks etc get a few old stools, maybe delegate someone to paint them. That's all we're planning on doing

the only thing that could be an issue really is getting a camera and a tri-pod set up

We are paying £475 for ours through Gigglebooth, 4 hours unlimited photos, booth attendant, prop box with wigs, glasses, hats, feather boa etc, tacky as you like! You get 2 strips of passport photos each time, one for guests to keep and one for us to put in the guest book that also comes with the price, cd of images, unlimited video recordings, coloured gel pens to write in the guest book, erm what else, I chose the colour of the curtain (blue) to match our colours and there is an online gallery for everyone to see photos if you want them too.

We aren't having our photographer in the evening so for us it is totally worth the money. :-)

We have ours for 4/5 hrs. Am paying 395,
It's a photo kiosk instead of a booth. Unlimited photos and video messages, it's has 2 staff manning it, got the vip ropes, props, the guest takes a photo with our wedding date & our name on it, we get a copy too which they put in a photo album, as well as everything getting transfered onto a disk.

Thanks ladies, Kimi that sounds like you got a good deal with all the things included. I will have a look at their website.

I know what you mean Velcro but I just don't want the bother of it and I don't want to ask some to be in charge of it all evening. A friend of my h2b's usher is doing our photography at a vastly reduced rate compared to what we had originally budgeted for so we were considering th money we would have spent on another photographer on a booth for the evening as he isn't going to stay much into the evening as his wife will have just had a baby.

Anyone know If photobooth companies tend to do offers? Is it worth keeping an eye out around a particular time or has anyone manged to haggle with one? I think I'd like a traditional style of booth with the props and bits that Kimi described. xx

StaceyP91 yours sounds really good too.
I found mine in Wedding Ideas magazine and it was advertised as on special offer, normally £595, (but I don't know how true that is). The offer expired in September, but they probably have it on all the time. You could always give them a call and explain you recently 'found the article and wondered if they could possibly do it for you if you booked it there and then?' We do that with most things and it usually works :-) The best one was our wedding venue, we had decided on the venue ages before we booked anything and then it actually came up as an offer on a particular daily discount offer website so we rang the venue and said we cant pay for it today but would they honour that price until we could put a deposit down and they said they would and we could adapt the package as we like :-) saved over £1000 (apparently! Hubby to be would say otherwise! :-)
