Hi all, as I haven't done this before (Like most people here) I don't know what is a good price for a wedding DJ. We have a band booked but we are wanting a DJ for before and after. So can anyone tell me an average price.

I think it depends on where you're located. When we started looking the average price was £500 but we do live in London. In the end we got a company thorugh this site as they were offering a 20% discount to members which saved us a heap! I think we're paying about the £260 mark now. Hx

I definately think it depends where you live - we're not actually having a disco but if I remember correctly when we was playing with ideas a disco an average was about £150 x

We're in Leeds and we're paying £200 - but when we looked online prices ranged from about £150 to £400.

I reckon the others are right, it depends where you are.
What I would do is ask around your guests if they know anyone, in my experience, somebody always knows someone, or if you have a local gumtree site, dj's will advertise there.
its anywhere between £150 and £250 here on quotes so far x

I think it'll also depend on how long you want them for, ask in local pubs as they usually use them too, and they'll recommend someone reliable too! xx

We're paying £250 for our DJ, which is his "mates rate". He's usually £400. That said, he's really flexible, has offered to wear whatever we want him to (within reason) and is providing us with a mix for during the meal as well as alternating sets with the band all evening.
