Hi everyone, thought I'd start one of these as they seem a good idea to get everything pulled together and get people's opinions on things.
We have a date set with the venue for 8th of August. Our venue is stunning, has a fairytale ballroom and we will also have access to the conservatory and drawing room for welcome drinks and canapés. The plan is for me to get ready there in the morning, which will make for some stunning photographs.
We have our meeting with the Church later on today, I'm really hoping that they will be booking the date with us (and that the 8th is free) otherwise we'll have to start looking at other Churches. The Church is the one where we live and is a gorgeous Church.
We have our transport booked, a band for the evening and a electric violinist for the wedding breakfast (she is a massive indulgence on our part, but we think it will be a lovely touch to the day)
The colour scheme we're going for is dark green.... possibly with some lilac brought in with the flowers, but we'll see on that one. The men's suits have also been booked, well most of them, we have two ushers we have to add on but FMIL is paying for them.
I'm going dress shopping with my mum and two bridesmaids one weekend in March, as my bridesmaids are coming up here for our engagement party. But I'm thinking I might see if my mum is free to have a look in some other shops before then as well. No idea what style dress I want yet, I have a couple of favourites but want to try on as many styles as possible to just see what I feel suits me and what I'm comfortable in for the whole day as I have no intentions of taking my dress off and changing for the evening.

I can't wait to go, March 22nd seems like ages away, but I am going a bit earlier with my mum. It's not like the dresses are going anywhere :) and just means I can revisit the places with my favourite dresses.
Realised I forgot to add about the fantasy thing, we're going for a very subtle theme - we'd said about a lord of the rings theme before we got engaged-but only subtle things... and since we booked the venue and it has the amazing ballroom which is like the room from beauty and the beast we thought LOTR/DISNEY seemed a bit too much (especially considering we're talking about very subtle touches) we're going to just say fantasy and it's more for us as well, we're not shouting about the theme :)
Fiance would like the groomsmen to wear a Leaf Of Lorien Elven Leaf Brooch, I'm not sure where they'd wear it though.... would it be instead of a buttonhole... or go on the other side to the buttonhole?
Got plenty more done this morning too, been a productive weekend :)
Put deposit down on candy cart... that lady is also going to do our centre pieces too
Also went to visit our wedding cars and put deposit on them too
Paid the deposit on the band
Oh and bought some wedding insurance...
Now I'm going to relax and enjoy an evening out celebrating my cousins 18th Birthday.

Booked my hair and make-up today!
I think most things are sorted now, just need to organise flowers and favours but know what favours we want.
Presents for people ect. but these aren't all urgent things. Fiancé has raised a good point about presents, we just need to set a budget for each person otherwise we could go crazy with lots of different presents.

I'm trying not to sort too much too soon, but things like hair can be decided closer to the time even though it's booked.
