You are def not in the wrong, why invite people neither of you know. It's just a waste of money and especially when there are probably people you want to invite but can't because of money. Stick to your guns, I think it's very rude of someone to tell you to invite people anyway

Spoke to Alan about it we will go through the guest list nearer the time and decide we can comfortably afford 80 adults and the five kids that will be invited we both have big families and there is friends I can't invite all day that really we would want there, I've said to him that if he really wants these people to go then he needs to take others off the list but he's not having that. We shall see what happens but I'm. It paying £70 for someone I don't know when I can't even have all my cousins there all day.

and congratulations Shell! Lots of 1st August brides on here who I'm sure will pop in and say hello, I'm 2 weeks after you and have got everything sorted really except attire for the wedding party!

I've been trawling the pin website since Tuesday when we met our florist and she suggested that we have a common flower in our bouquets. We also thought this can run through the wedding day as a theme for our flowers too! She mentioned this as when she did another girl/girl wedding, in their bouquets they both had a common flower and we loved that idea so we have settled with daisies.... I think! Lots of different types like gerbera's, marguerite's etc :D here's my current favourite bouquet (would add in a few yellow gerbera's to match too with a few pink as well and would do a hessian wrap with a lace bow instead of all hessian) and an idea for decor with the daisies at the church!



Also decided on our choices for the menu and I've got to say, I can't wait to taste it on the day.... Fingers crossed we get a menu tasting LOL. Would you eat this?!

Adult's menu:
Starter - Goat’s cheese twice baked cheese soufflé topped with Parmesan cheese sauce
Main meal - Pot roast leg of lamb, served with sauté kale, pot roast vegetables, parsley mash potato & roast jus
Dessert - Classic Lemon tart with candied orange & clotted cream

Buffet options:
Selection of sandwiches
Onion Bhaji with Riata Dip
Crushed filo coated Prawns with sweet chilli dip
Smoked Salmon Pinwheels
Deep fried Camembert with fruit chutney dip
Chocolate fudge brownies

I've also spent the last 2 days designing and making our wedding invitations.... Based on a design off the V print website but customized and doing at home! xx

Still haven't decided which bouquet I'm going for the whole flower thing is driving me nuts now.

2 hours away from my "weekend" hopefully (weather permitting) we're going for a road trip to Fort William with the OH, dog and BMan ten back down to Dundee via Auchterarder so i can stop in Coco Mountain for an awesome hot choc :D

Eek... Just realized my ticker has moved AGAIN to 'getting married in 12 months'!! It was only yesterday it did it the last time surely?? Getting unnervingly close for my liking lol.

I think a shower would look lovely with your dress Elizabeth :) saw your hen do post - sounds AMAZING. Very envious! When is your hen do going to be?

Got lots of things sorted over the last few days - Chosen our veggie option for the meal; vegetable strudel with basil pesto and feta, spinach and pea sauce and a baked artichoke and potato timbale. Would have it ourselves if we weren't having lamb! The church has confirmed a definite time for our ceremony (2pm) and that we can have our photographer and videographer in during the service yay! We are also really pleased that we have been able to upgrade our video package to the full day premium package thanks to the church being much cheaper than the other - really thrilled with this as our photos and video are the only two things documenting our day so apart from this, we've only got our memories.. It will be the most watched DVD in the household LOL. Also finished our invitations which we'll be sending off next year, never want to go through that again!

Eek, you are right! I can't wait but the closer we get the faster time seems to go, or is that just me? I'd forgotten that you were getting married at 2pm temporarily, we really are date twins!

One thing I would say if you make your own invites, make sure that you have a decent printer to start with and that it can handle whatever thickness of card you chose. I must admit, we do love our invitations and to know that we've made them is lovely. So much better than a mass produced product and definitely worth it in the end just be prepared to shout at your guillotine or printer lol.

I think a shower would look lovely - I think it would extenuate your height and figure personally especially with your style of dress.

We are thoroughly looking forward to our menu tasting later this year, our mouths are watering already at the prospect :D thank you, it's so nice to hear that other people are as pleased about the church as we were. Didn't realize I was thought of or liked so highly! We originally had the before's, ceremony and after's being filmed but now we've got getting ready through to cake cutting and ceilidhing so we should have a great video at the end of it!

Fingers crossed for your hen do :) it sounds epic and I will look forward to hearing about it! Hate to think what our best man and MOH are organizing together and I don't think I want to know lol.

Wow, that's really good! Down here it's just hot hot and more hot which is great but sticky and humid is not lol. We are going up to Northumberland on Saturday for 2 weeks so going to be popping into Scotland a few times because *shock horror* I've never been although wanted to!!

Oh then I approve whole-heartedly lol.

I'm glad you've gone with the shower bouquet - I hope you don't mind but we asked for a show of hands on hand-tied vs. shower from my in-law's and it was unanimously voted in favour of the shower ;) they all said you look stunning btw too!

What have you put in your activity boxes? We are undecided as to whether we will as we only have 3 children that will need them aged 2, 3 and 4... We will have a games corner but tbh we aren't sure whether they would need them?

I remember when my ticker was at 18 months and now it's down to 12 eek... Las summer, last Christmas.. And I'll have my last birthday just before the wedding next year as a single woman!

Exciting for you! I wish that I could get measured in January but they've told me I need to go in in September to get it ordered :( personally I feel that's too early as it takes 5-6 months to arrive..

Haha, indeed. I always find it strange that you enter marriage as a 'single' woman yet we anything from it lol.

My dress only takes 12 weeks to come in so going in the end of January ill get it end of april and get my fittings in July.

Ive had a look at the potential hen weekend site and im quite impressed with everything they have on site.

Im getting married in Rhu just beside Helensburgh.

Something weird is going on with this tonight took ages to upload the pictures then wouldn't let me comment.

Catherine the pictures are what I have for the kids activit box the one names Connor is for 3 boys (2 six year olds and one 8 years old) Dylans is for an 11 year old and Sophie is the only little girl who will be almost 6.

Ive also got little jigsaws to put in. Plus ive realised I need to get a little something else for Sophie the 2 boys have slightly different cars from Connor. I also have on order little activy books but im not sure if I should get some bubbles as Connors loves them.

for your age group I would say yeah. It looks like ive spent loads but ive not everything has been on offer and most only cost £ except for the lego.

You need to go with your heart hun!!!!! What feels most comfy NOW and what you love really :) especially as we are in a heatwave!! x

I think Clair may be right though which one are you most drawn too? Are the both similar price? I think I would ask myself which one would I be wishing I had got when it came to the pictures and looking back on the big day

Well we've had a VERY stressful 48 hours, Debbie has had a complete turn around with her dress but she's luckily now found her 'one'! Unfortunately, she lost so much weight that her dress was completely unrecognizable and would have also cost a fortune to get altered sadly :( Personally I think she is the most beautiful and will make a stunning bride but I'm also so proud of her for admitting that she wasn't happy and found a solution together!! :) xx
