what gifts have you all got for your father of the bride?? I want a little something for my dad but he doesn't drink, has thousands of cufflinks and new socks irritate... im doing him and his wife a photo book after the wedding but was thinking of a little gift for him for the wedding just stuck for ideas

no he doesn't even drink tea or coffee, hes a pain to buy!!

How about a wallet? You could get it personalised or maybe put a little message in it for him.

yeah our gifts will be given in the morning so its more personal

I've got my dad a pocket watch. I've had it inscribed with dad ill love you every hour of every day.

We had thought bout giving the gifts on the morning of the wedding however we both want to witness the reactions to the gifts and their is no way I'm seeing oh. X

I'm a little p'eed off, the 3rd of August is our finally meet with our venue wedding planner and I've had it scheduled in for months, and she knows we have to travel up from Kent to meet her. So she emailed me yesterday just saying she can't make the Monday now so can I make any other day that week and I said no that's the only day we are up in Bristol unfortunately, so she says that's fine I can Meet with her assistant who will be there on the day anyway... But I'm like a bit p'eed that obvs we have had it in the diary for ages and she knows we have to travel up. Obvs we are seeing someone but I bet it's gonna be someone who can't give me answers to stuff and that's gonna really annoy me!! :/

Had a wedding dream last night as well, everything went wrong... hair and make-up didn't turn up. I was running around trying to sort the tables out with center pieces and the petals to go on the tables and noone else seemed bothered... everyone was sitting down to eat but the tables looked an absolute mess. Surprisingly woke up pretty calm about it all though

I have my hen night tonight woohoo, I wasnt too fussed about it until I woke up this morning and im super excited,cant wait, had 2 people say they might not make it oh well its their money they've lost, its a dancing through the decades night and ive went for an 80's theme for people to dress up most people are going for the fluorescent colours tutus etc, but I have my very own Mad0nna and T1na Turn3r in attendance cant wait to see every one.

Aghh bit of a pain that he keeps changing his mind, what a nightmare. I don't think it's a bad idea and you may benefit from some extra snaps that you wouldn't have got otherwise. I did a wedding with my sister a while back and they sat us with the guests, I ended up getting some photo's of the grooms granddad and brother-but then also of the granddad with one of the grooms best friends-they hadn't met before but over the meal they were talking and got on really well and the granddad was joking about them being best friends now.


Thanks, I can't wait for Paris. I'll be on here updating you all when I get back :) Just paid all our suppliers off except for those that are friends as they've asked for it closer to the time, the band as I want them to confirm bank details and the Church as we want to arrange a meeting with the new vicar and will pay then.



My hen was fantastic though. A couple of weeks before I got an envelope which told me some things I needed to bring-which gave away the fact that my second night was scientist themed, and also made me think the first night was dance-but I was thrown as to whether it was burlesque or 80's. I realised then that one of my bridesmaids sisters was going to do us a dance class. The Thursday before I got another envelope-which told me I was having a burlesque lesson. So after work on the Friday one of my bridesmaids came home with me, it was my birthday so she brought me my presents, we got ready together and went to the venue.


Everyone was already there waiting for me and they had provided food and loads of drink. I gave everyone their little wine charms I had bought as a present and they loved them. The dance routine was fab, we all loved doing it even if we were a bit rubbish lol. There was a bit she kept saying I was doing on my own but she'd show me later.

We had a break from the dancing for some food and then to play a game. which was a version of pin the tail on the donkey (I'm sure you can guess what lol) I went first and was blind folded and spun around... but when I went to pin on the 'tail' I felt a man's chest instead of the poster. They had ordered a Butler in the Buff. He was a lovely lad and got us all drinking more, we then properly played the game and got back to the dancing-which my solo bit involved him sitting on a chair and me dancing around him.

I was given another envelope which also contained a T-Shirt.

The following day we met at the train station and got a mini bus to wherever we were going, one of my friends told me the weekend was very girly so she'd got me a can of stout for my bit of manliness. The traffic was horrendous and it took us way longer then planned to get to where we were going then it should. I got another envelope with more clues and a chocolate bar in it, so I guessed we were going to Cadbury land.
That was fab, we had a buffet there and then went on the tour!


In the evening we dressed as scientists and played a few games, we got photo's with the chemical structures and formulas for things like alcohol, happiness, water ect. a game where we weren't allowed to say certain words otherwise you'd lose a peg (if you lost all your pegs you had to have a shot) and they all had dare cards to give to me. I did all my dares because they gave me a star chart and I wanted to fill it lol.


Ash is itching to set off to the airport now though so I'll leave it at that and here's just a couple of photo's

Finally got the CDs finished yesterday.

Have a great time in Paris Donna! I wouldn't worry too much about the kids surname, my eldest two are double barrelled with mine and their dads, my ex, surname and when u change my surname to my oh's only my youngest daughter will share the surname the same as us, but I thought back to when I was younger my mum always had a different surname to me and never really made any difference, I just think their name is part of their history really.

Had my afternoon tea with 22(!) ladies yesterday, it was so fun!

Meeting with videographer tonight and dropping top hat cake topper to the cake makers. 2 weeks till I pick up marriage schedule and have dress fitting tomorrow. Got a few emails OH and I need to reply to from photographer and venue as well as need to finalise what names are going on what tables and who is sitting where then send that to venue.

Had a 3 hour long Skype chat with my best friend and MOH and she was telling me my niece is going around her school and friends telling them she is going to be a flower girl, she gets to wear a very pretty dress which she really loves and gets to throw flowers onto the floor and it's a very important job! She's such a sweetheart.

off to get my pedicure this morning ready for the wedding. Thought id get that out the way this week as im working up until next Tuesday, Wednesday I have my spa day and my parents arrive on Tuesday so it will be madness.

So excited that I finally realised why don't we do French chic style decor in the reception room
As a theme as it sits so well with our black & champagne colours! So I've been busy buying little cafe signs etc and decided on this idea for the table plan so I can adjust if my bridesmaid doesn't make it on the day! I love the Range store ! Lol they had everything!

I also had my final fitting yesterday & the dress is now hung in our spare room, h2b has no idea its there.

I felt 100% better with the straps/jacket added, I ate before going though which was a bad idea, she tied me in so tight that I couldn't breathe lol. She did say it has to be done tight as within 30 mins it naturally stretches, as your body heat warms the material :/

Wow time is flying now, where has this week gone?!
Started to sort out what is needed for each table, and will finish printing out the menus this weekend. Postbox is nearly done, just need to print out the sign for the front!

My mother is proper stressing about everything, I seem to have gone past the stress phase and am now really excited, is that normal?!

aaaa still stuck for a gift idea for my dad.. i've ordered him a personalised gift tag just need something to put it on

I forgot my tiara though.... also not sure whether to have my veil over it or under. I thought over before so I could wear it over, but it will not only cover my hair up it might mess it up when I take it out as well.

Hair looks lovely Donna :) not sure how to answer the veil question sadly.

Sprucey you will LOVE Disney Paris! Been there twice and going to Orlando for our honeymoon and the latter half of our time there will involve Disney squee!

Here's a tip though for Paris itself. When you're around the Notre Damme... Don't stick to the Sienne. Get lost in the back streets. We found a wonderful crepery and further on a shop with a hogroast in the window!

You'll manage quite a bit done there in a day there to be fair, especially with no kids. But be prepared to stop all night too-you have to watch the fireworks :D

MrsRobson2Be I would be livid if my OHs best man acted like that. Make sure if he does turn up to not leave the rings with him just to be safe.

For us is just making sure all suppliers are singing from the same hymn sheet. Getting a little frustrated with our chair cover hire people as they haven't replied to our last email since Saturday after we changed the order slightly and asked for final payment details. Emailed them again last night so waiting for a reply. OH says if we don't hear from them we're just going to have to cut them loose and find another supplier as he isn't working with anyone unreliable.

Final fitting for Bridesmaid at our seamstress on the 4th in the evening with collection for both our dresses on the 6th

Final seating plan to venue inc names of tables and need to make place cards

Make Wonderland signs.

Booked brow shape and tint, lash tint and leg wax on the 6th as well. Hair dye on standby. Nail appointment booked for the 8th.

Hen night on the 7th

Need to buy extra LED candles for lanterns

Sweets for sweet table

Take my ring next week to get replated.

Couple more things but otherwise we're all set and ready to go!
