Really thoughtful and personal favours mrshurren I hope your guests will appreciate how heartfelt they are.
I put all the name tag thank you notes on the favours a while ago and wish I hadn't cos it's difficult to store them without squishing them!

    Thanks ladies,

My dad has made an amazing recovery. The prof at the hospital said he had never know someone with such a bad aneurysm survive. He has made a full recovery after a few set backs and 4 plus months in hospital.

We are only having a few sweets in the bags as we made the donation. Will post a pic once I've made them x

We had ours last week, they asked for all the contact details of all the suppliers and what time they would turn up etc. Ran through the whole day with timings, talked about food and drink options, how it would work with the registrar, when the groom needs to be ready etc etc!

We have our final meeting this Sunday to discuss final numbers, type of tables we're using, timings, wines. I have a folder which is filled with all our supplier info so will be taking our contact sheet with us. After being to two weddings where the DJ/Band didn't turn up we're not taking the risk though and will be contacting all our suppliers from tomorrow confirming times and finer details. I know we will also have an appointment to set up soon with the videographer and we need to make up a list as well of pictures to take with the photographer.

A contact sheet is a great idea Victoria, the venue has everything but I might draw one up anyway for my own sanity and I can wave it at people if I start getting questions on the day.

In other news, I've just done all the BACS transfers so everyone is paid off now! All that's left is the band and DJ who want payment on the day! Scary!

To be honest no one should be asking you things like that on the day. Assign a bridesmaid to keep ahold of it and who is responsible enough to know what questions they may be asked. The Bride and Groom should only ever be asked something if the proverbial sh*t has hit the fan.

For me it's my MOH who is going to be given the contact list for the day.

Our wedding co-ordinator has got ours and she will be who everyone should go to for anything. the venue just went through everything in finer details e.g decorations, timings, who is who, suppliers, food, rooms etc.....

everything is paid up for us too just got dj money but im giving that my dad as it needs paying on the day and by 7pm I think the best man may be a little drunk

I cant make my favours until the week of the wedding and that is the only thing that has me worrying :( wish I could make them now!!

Today was my 1st fitting but unfortunately it didn't go off to a good start, H2B's nan passed away unexpectedly last night, we got the call at 2am :(
H2B insisted I still go to my fitting so I did, but I really wasn't in the mood. I hated how I looked in my dress, I have lost weight since ordering my dress yet I now have back fat!! when I tried on the sample dress there was no back fat so why is it there after losing weight?? I felt so silly getting upset over this when H2B's going through hell :(
The lady solved the problem though by putting a little lace capelet thing on me, which hid my problem area & complemented the dress.
It looks as though the funeral will be taking place the week before our wedding, which is going to be awful, I feel like cancelling :(

One month to go for me today! :-O Crikey should I be this calm?

@mrsrobson2b I agree with Elizabeth. She would not want you to do that. Not sure if it being so fresh it would be a good idea but maybe do something to acknowledge her during the ceremony? Maybe when the officiate is thanking people for travelling can also mention about those who could not be with you on the day. Or you can reserve her a seat and have a picture on it?

It is very likely you have only just noticed the back issue now when you are feeling so low when before it never occurred to you because you weren't picking faults due to feeling down but I am glad the seamstress was able to come up a with a solution which solved it for you.

    Big hugs xxxx

Donna - it shouldn't be a problem as banns can be read without the couple but it can be frowned upon and some vicars/priests may think there's no effort on your part (I know this isn't the case!) so give the vicar a ring today or just go to Sunday morning service tomorrow to show willing ;)

I know. Mine is 4 weeks from Monday and we were contacted yesterday by the videographer to book appointment so thats sorted out for the 21st, my dress fitting with bridesmaid it the 22nd. Need to drop top hat cake topper to the cake makers, DJ also contacted us to confirm date and times (we're having them start earlier so they can play music during the wedding breakfast) OH is going to make up the Wonderland Signpost arrows and I'm planning painting and stencelling them. Still need to get my nieces hairband sorted out and get some more table cloths and crochet cloths for the display tables.

OH was a bit annoyed today because my usual hairdresser recommended a barber to trim his beard, booked the appointment two weeks ago only to find out they don't do beard trims or shapes just clean shaves. Was really unhappy as he was looking forward to the whole hot towel experience :( found another barber but didn't do any of the pampering stuff. Tempted to book him into the Ruffi@n$ in Edinburgh.

It appears there was some mis-communication, H2B's nan is being cremated so the service isn't at our church. Everyone is saying how much there looking forward to the wedding & that they need something positive to look forward to, which has made me feel a little better.

Our order of services have arrived from v!st@print, they are perfect.

We popped into g0ldsm!ths to enquire about cleaning my engagement ring so it looks nice next to my wedding ring, they said it needed re-coating. I mentioned that I was planning on getting the e-ring re-sized after the wedding, when we had the money as I assumed it would be expensive, only to be told it's only £9 dearer & includes re-coating. So I am now ringless but as they put it through as a rush order, I will have it back within the week.
My calender is filled to the brim with appointments up until the wedding with hair, nails, fittings, etc.

Donna as the others have mentioned it can be frowned upon, could you go tomorrow? I know your banns have now finished but at least the vicar will see that you have made the effort & you can speak to him after the service to explain why you missed your banns.

Victoria a new barbers opened near us, alot of H2B's friends had a cut throat shave there & highly recommended it, so I booked H2B in for a treat. H2B was cut to pieces lol, the barber was very apologetic & told H2B that he was the hardest shave he has ever done!!

You can choose I think if you want them glossy, matte etc at the end I think. I know I got that option when I was doing evening invites via Vi$t@ Print.

@MrsRobson... he found a barber in the end but didn't tell me till he picked me up and I noticed his face looked a lot tidier lol. He had the cut throat on his next which feels lurvley and he smelled o so good mmm... ANYWAY he is going to go back there a few days before the wedding so thats that sorted :)

Sorry to hear your OH was shredded :( does he have a very thick beard?

MrsK2b they are great quality, for some reason I thought they would be card but they are very thick paper. Ours are shiny & I don't remember getting the option to have matt.

Victoria his beard is very thick & the hairs grow in every direction, the barber did say that he would be able to perfect shaving H2B if he went regularly, but H2B doesn't want to try again.

We have a wet Shave barber every so often for pampering events at work it's definitely 100% easier if you Shave often rather than having a thick beard! Plus if he uses a face wAsh and scrub to help soften the beard and lift those ingrowing hairs out it'll be a much smoother easier shave!

Hello to all the lovely August brides. Not long now! Seven weeks for me and I am at the end of the month!

Mrsrobinson2b I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope your h2b is holding up ok?
Victoria I hope your injuries are getting better!

We met with the vicar on Wednesday and have now chosen all our music, basically we went with what they recommended as we didn't have a clue. The organist gave us a few options for the entrance and exit and we chose the ones we liked the best.

I had my final fitting yesterday, still so in love with my dress, I have decided to get a different tiara though. I was going to borrow my friends one but it is just too chunky for the dress so back to the drawing board!
I also had my hair trial which went really well. I have another one booked for the beginning of August as the lady at the salon that took my original booking only gave me an hour when she should have allocated two! I am paying £60 for my hair on the day and that includes as many trials as I need so not paying extra for it.

I went shopping today and found a beautiful delicate bracelet to wear. I got the matching earrings as well but I don't think I will wear them on the day as they are a bit too dangly. They were having a bogof sale so the earrings were free and I will wear them but just maybe not in the day. I might try them with my next hair trial to see if it is too much.

We got the invoice from the church today and it is due next weekend, also final numbers are due to the venue tomorrow and that bill will also be due next weekend. I think photographer is also due next weekend but haven't had the final bill yet.

Still to sort favours and the table plan but I feel strangely calm -is that odd?

Hey Kimberley! Foot and hand are getting there but just sore now if I over stretch or try to push/pull open drawers with my left hand (good thing I am right handed)

I keep thinking it is odd as well that I am so calm when people keep asking me with 4 weeks to go as of tomorrow "are you not freaking out yet?" No! We gave ourselves 2 years to prep for this so the last few months/weeks/days were not spent stressing out and it seems to have worked in our favor.

Today we visited the venue for the final meeting which went really well. Found out they have ended up with a sweet cart which we can use for out sweet display (whoo hoo!) which gives us more room on the big table for cake, evening buffet and anything else we thought we didn't have room for :D. We also discovered they have their own circle mirror bases so we don't need to hire them from our candleabra supplier so going to contact them and have them remove it (I only got them add these and change the candleabra from silver to black last week so they're probably going to be a little annoyed lol) we were worried we didn't have enough lanterns for the pathway from the castle to the pavilion but as it turns out the venue have the exact same lanterns so they will be able to add to ours! We get access pretty much 2am the morning of the wedding though of course I will be asleep for this and the venue will do most of the setting up. Saying that though I am a control freak and said I would be at the venue by 8am likely doing final touches and ensuring everything is in its place and setting up the lawn games.

Got all the timings down, the fact that during the drinks reception/canapes we want non alcoholic punch and then wine and cider on the tables for the wedding breakfast which he really liked the idea of.

I made a comment after visiting the ladies room that they should have a sign on the door between the Gents and Ladies with arrows pointing opposite directions stating "Gents to the left because the women are always right!" took a moment and then creased himself laughing. Told him I planned to makeup a sign to stick up there with that if he didn't mind... he asked if he could keep it after! lol

    Argh I cannot wait!!!

Is it something you need Elizabeth? If not it is just an unnecessary expense.
I only purchased order of services as the church said we had to have them, my friend who also had a CofE wedding at a different church didn't have to have them, I guess each church is different.

I've shown a couple of family members & they were like "we have to sing??" lol, err yes there is singing in a church wedding.

Feeling really rubbish at the moment, still having problems with his parents... they keep texting and ringing demanding money. We're also having problems. When I think we're okay, he'll stop us to have a talk about how he doesn't think I'm happy... he accused me of having an affair with a friend at one point... that has since changed to he thinks said friend ''wants'' me and that I'll decide to run off with him one day. We had these talks 3 out of 4 days this weekend and only didn't have it on Friday because we ended up out with some old work friends of mine until 3 in the morning (we had such a fab night as well, he got on really well with everyone even though he'd never met them before and was sober as he was driving)
The thing is, after all this (it's been going on for a month or so) I don't feel the same for him, I'm tired of it. It sort of started because at Easter when his parents kicked off, (again, this had been going on for years) we didn't talk to them for a few weeks and agreed that we get on so much better when they're not involved and I never asked him not to speak to them, but I did say wele couldn't pretend nothing had happened like we have done in the past (basically they kick off about me all the time, but it starts over things that are completely out of my control, like him being taxed. we found out a few years ago that when we first met his mum was texting his ex (who she hated and he'd only been seeing for 2 months) about me and his ex was lying saying she knew me and my family and we were all horrible) then has the nerve to say I'm the one who's always had a problem with her. She's caused me so much hurt over the years and so has he for just ignoring her when she does it and then talking like nothing has happened when she stops. But this time he agreed it couldn't go on like this, but the very next day started talking to her as if nothing had happened... because she had called and was just acting like nothing happened. This made me really question what I was doing, I never told him, but he picked up from me that I was more distant and realised he was losing me (this is where the friend thing came in because I turned to this friend a lot for support) he then spoke to his parents about it... which made them kick off more, however, I sort of felt and still feel-that it shouldn't have taken him thinking I was going to leave him to do something about it, I hate that he knew I was miserable but did nothing about it because he thought I would just stay and put up with it :(

Now we have less than a month to the wedding and I'm not looking forward to it, I'm not sure if we're doing the right thing, I'm terrified of turning into his parents (bitter, miserable people) and the thought of being Mrs C makes me feel a little sick. Then on top of all this with him, he promised yesterday he wouldn't do it again-but I'm sick of promises, they don't seem to mean anything.

    I don't know what to do :(

Aww Donna, I really dont know what to say to you Big hugs.

If it was one of my friends asking for advice i would tell them they need to have a really long hard think about what they really wanted, it's so close to your wedding emotions are running high and maybe your oh is starting to realise hes actually getting married and acting like a bit of a div, Men are thick when it comes to their mothers (my ohs almost split us up).

I think he is genuinely concerned he is going to lose you but not because of the friend because of his parents and this is his way of kinda asking you but going about it the wrong way.

you need to have a heart to heart with your oh and figure out exactly what you both want if you go ahead with the wedding (I hope you do), then you both need to work at it to make sure you dont end up like his parents and you dont need to take on their surname if you dont want to but then you will be the new Mrs C and make it fun.

    massive hugs hun,

Am thinking of doing an order of service but with a twist. A more like "Who's who" in the wedding party with a little mini funny bio and also a polite message that the ceremony is "unplugged" so now cameras or mobiles on and no social media sharing until the day after and any pics of us especially are to be run by us first.

Oh Donn :-( I'm so sorry to hear this. Have you mentioned your doubts about getting married to you OH? Have you thought of having couples mediation with your minister/celebrant or a couples mediator?

Oh Donna :( I echo what others have said about having a heart to heart with your OH.

I'm having a paddy about the menus today, I was told when we booked the venue would sort out menus for us, now they are saying they don't. We have quite a few weird combinations of dietary requirements so now I'm trying to work out the best way to do a menu for each table. I really don't want to go down the menu per person route!

Was this mentioned in your original agreement MrsK? If so then throw that back at them and say "It says right here"

What kind of weird requirements are you having to deal with?

Been into town today with my mum & we have managed to get her's, nan's & grandad's outfit sorted for the wedding.
We popped into debenh@ms to look at the j@cque$ v3rt range as mum previously liked a lot of her dresses, to find they had a sale on.
She managed to get a dress, jacket, shoes & bag for £300 & a second complete outfit for £176 as she couldn't decide between the 2, both outfits were originally £500.

I got my nan a top, skirt & jacket from the same designer for £123 reduced from £360, still need to find her a hat.

Grandad's suit was a major bargain, popped in te$c0 on the way home & managed to get him a jacket for £10, trousers for £5, shirt & tie for £6.

mrs Robson to be the outfits look great

I didn't want order of services but the vicar has said we will need them so people know what to say and when to say it, he has also included a hymn which I don't like hymns but it keeps the father in law happy.

Elizabeth my wedding date is 14th August :) dropped my ring off today to be re-coated

Donna I hope you find some answers its very hard as its close to the wedding and emotions will be running high but you have to do what you want for yourself x

Donna so sorry you're having an emotional time at the moment, I know exactly what families can be like! Oh doesn't talk to his family anymore either same kind of things. I would say maybe you need a bit of time apart see if that helps clear your head at all? And then have a real good talk afterwards and make sure every little thing is discussed and not leave til it's all come to a resolution good or bad. Try and put the wedding side of it out of your kind and focus on the relationship itself maybe?

Mrsrobson the outfits look great! What great finds!

Well our ceremony is all planned. :)

While waiting for our appointment a couple where just about to get married and the bride and her son were in the room with us. As her music started I suddenly felt very nervous!
