OMG my h2b has just rung me, when we visited his parents a few days ago they said they wanted to give us something towards the wedding, they've just told him there transferring £2,000 into our account :D
We already have enough to cover everything (if it comes in on budget) so that's going towards our honeymoon.

I actually feel really bad taking it!! Has anyone else felt like that?
My dad also offered to do the food & cake, I need to ask him if he's still OK to sort it as he hasn't mentioned it since. I've seen him loads since but felt that it would be rude asking but its getting to the point I'm going to have to.

Yeah we're going to Mexico. can't wait. We are planning on spending quite a bit of time in the hotel as we've booked a VERY nice one, but that will be a mixture of the pool, the bars and just our room. But there are also loads of excursions which we want to go on, things like swimming with turtles, swimming with dolphins, there's an amazing water park there that we've been told about, visits to all the ruins, visits to the market places and stuff ect.

I hate asking for money but going to get to a point where we have to, future mother in law has said on a few things ''oh I'll pay for that'', ''I'll pay for this'' ect. so now things are getting to the point where they're due to be paid we're going to have to start asking her if she is still paying for certain bits as she hasn't mentioned them since.

I really can't wait... looking at honeymoon clothes now as well. I'm going to hold off until May half term to look properly, but going to have a sort out then of clothes. I've already bought a couple of extra bits but then in May I will try on my swimsuits and other clothes, see what I have and possibly treat myself to some more extra bits.

We won't be able to do all the excursions, but that's purely because there is so much to do! Our hotel is gourmet all inclusive as well, loads of restaurants and bars to go to and butlers on the beach. Oh and a jacuzzi in the bedroom

The honeymoon is actually really stressing me out, we were originally going on a mini-moon & then a family holiday in Florida the following year. Now were having a proper honeymoon & no Florida :( as we are going to be saving big time so that we can buy a house.
All of the nice mexican hotels are about £4,000 which I think is way to much, especially when we'll need approx £1,000 more for excursions & spends. Think were going to go into a travel agents & ask for some recommendations, the only preferences we have are all inclusive, adults only & lots to do.

I'm sure you'll find something, we really wanted the same as you-BUT we also always wanted to go to Mexico and we loved that particular hotel, we were being quite fussy, I'm sure you can find something cheaper then that but still amazing. What price range will you be looking at?

I was thinking around £3,000 for the hotel & flights, the hotel you have booked was coming out cheapest for us at around £4,100

Have the prices changed much from when you booked?

The prices went up a bit just after I booked, but that's about what we booked so they must have come down again, we did pay a hundred or so extra for an upgraded room though. What airports can you travel from?

It was either Stanstead or Gatwick I can't remember exactly as we've looked at so many!!
I have been advised by a friend (travel agent) to put off booking for a bit, as with the fuel prices dropping the flights should come down. Knowing our luck they'll go up!!

Just had an email & text from the vicar we have to attend our marriage peperation meeting on the 28th Feb, our banns are being read on 21st, 28th June & 5th July.
He also told us the fees are now £771 (2014 at our church was £744 so not to much of an increase) or £811 if we want extra pew end flowers.

As for the time, I'm confident it will, Jan and Feb are always miserable and slow months as your on the come down from Christmas, although I would have hated having to sort loads of wedding stuff over Christmas I can see why people get married in Jan, if we'd had the wedding at the end of Jan at least we'd be looking forward to that and would have anniversaries other years to look forward to.

Jan is a busy month for us had a 30th last weekend, then 24th it's a wee night in my friends for all the couples for one of the girls birthdays, and the 31st is my cousins 18th at a curry karaoke night.

Wow-I wish we had a busy Jan

I always think people stand out and not in a good way when they wear white to a wedding. I was watching 4 weddings the other day and one of the brides wore a white lace dress and pearl necklace to one of the others wedding :o it was crazy.

I don't think I'd do anything if anyone wore white at mine, but I'd be a little peeved... possibly not on the day as I wouldn't let something like that ruin it and hopefully would be too busy to even notice, but when I saw pics I'd be like-as if.

I wouldn't say anything but I certainly wouldn't be pleased about it but it's to be expected as she always tries to be dramatic and the centre of attention. I did think she'd let me have my one wedding day for me but I was wrong.. I've briefed all the family and told them not to give any details away because I know it will only bite me on the bum with her!

Still not heard back from the cathedral so I sent a chaser. Last email was sent on 16th December with no reply so I think that's ok? Really need to know how much, service content and rehearsal date because we have stuff to sort now that is being held up by this!

I went to a wedding a few months back where the brides sister wore a white lace mini dress, when she walked into the church people started singing "here comes the bride". I was fuming on behalf of the bride!! yet when I mentioned to her a few weeks later what she thought of her sisters choice of outfit, she said she'd actually gone shopping with her & helped her choose the dress

I've just ordered my 2 adult bridesmaid dresses from the bay for £38 each delivered, I was planning on getting them from y0ur brid@l we@r for £90 each but the seller has great feedback, so I thought it was worth a chance. I ordered in normal sizes rather then custom so if they aren't what is expected they can be returned.
I wonder what seamstresses charge to alter dresses though as they'll probably need taking up, they are corset back so shouldn't need taking in.
This is the dress but in sea green not blue, the sea green looks like mint green (which is the colour I've been hoping for)

Thank you all for you hugs and kind messages. Im getting there my partner has gone back to work as keeping himself busy is better, just got the funeral next week to deal with. we have decided to not take the kids with us so my mum is coming up (4 hour journey) to look after them. so on a plus side im going to see if we can get some wedding stuff done while shes here. Also my ring arrived this morning it looks so small next to my other halfs but its lovely i just think it looks weird on with my engagment ring but guess thats just cus im not used to it :)

January is a slow boring month but i have my birthday at the end of it which all tho i dont really celebrate mine much the kids look forward to it so that should cheer everyone up and we have valentines day to look forward to ladies. again its something i dont normally celebrate but think i will this year.. what are your valentines day plans??

Glad your all coping okay (well as well as you can do in the situation) I think not taking the kids to the funeral is a good decision, if it can be avoided I don't believe they are the right places for children. Also would be nice to sort some wedding stuff out with your mum, especially as she lives so far away.

We are hoping to get my partners parents up here in February (they also live about 4 hours away) to go through the guest list before we send invites. It's also my fiancé's Birthday in Feb, so we have quite a bit to look forward to next month.

We don't usually do anything valentines day either, but we have talked about doing something this year. Not sure what though, we have said if we want to go out for a meal we will have to book it early as it's a Saturday this year. Which is something, we could do with knowing when his parents are wanting to come up, as if they are coming up then we will probably arrange something with them (romantic I know lol) but if they aren't coming up we will want to book something. They have a habit of leaving things up in the air as to whether they are coming up or not until the last minute, which is a pain for knowing whether we can plan things.
