Yeah I've been emailing the lady I want for hair and make up today as she's had enquiries for my date! So deffo get that one in if you can, you won't need to worry about hairstyles yet just have some ideas for your trial whenever you book it.

Hi ladies, has anyone seen any open toe wedge wedding shoes or suitable to be used as a wedding shoe. Ideally with a small platform at the front.

I've seen some on the bay of e but I'd rather be able to try them on or order them from a company I can return them to. x

Donna - I would DEFINATELY recommend speaking to hair/make up to secure a date. I contacted 2 people locally 20 months before the wedding and both were booked for my date! (admittedly we live in the @rse end of no-where haha). I have only spoken to mine briefly to discuss timings on the day and to ask if I had an idea of when I wanted a trial. We haven't even started on what I/we want, just asked for me to have a few ideas when she does come for the trial.

Paid off the photo booth yesterday, and are going to get H2B's ring next weekend. Also going to Church on Monday to have a chat with the vicar and get the prices for this year, and hopefully arranging to go and see the wedding co-ordinator at the hotel for the reception to find out about timings etc. Exciting!

Well they messaged back, apparently our date was free but they were speaking to someone else about it. So I called this morning and we spoke about packages and we're pencilled in, I just need to go in and pay the deposit either today or tomorrow (Don't think I can make it today as oh has the car and he's working late, but I'll make him drive me there tomorrow straight after work so it's sorted)

I think I got a fab deal, I wasn't sure how many of us actually wanted our hair done and asked if they needed numbers, she said we sort of need an idea as they work out the deposit based on how many people are having their hair done. So I said how there was me and my mum, two bridesmaids and my Auntie but I wasn't sure if my bridesmaids and Auntie wanted it done or if they wanted to do their own. She said how they did a package for £275 which was to come to the house the morning of the wedding, do me (including a consultation and trial) two bridesmaids, a bridesmaid trial, mother of the bride and two flower girls, but since I didn't have flower girls they would swap them for my Auntie. I thought for all that it sounded like a fab deal (they are a really good hairdressers, their pics look fab and they've always been great with my Auntie, so I'm all booked)

I'm not sure if the make-up is booked or not, but I'm going to confirm I want to go ahead with that as well when I pay the deposit (that's £80 for me including a trial and £25 for any extra's.... my bridesmaids want to do their own make-up though)

My hairdresser has messaged me back and tomorrow we're doing the consultation, so I need to take in pics of my dress and hair styles I have seen. Best get looking at different hairstyles and get some idea's :) although they're really good their and suggesting things which will suit as well, so open to idea's from them.

Donna that's good you managed to get someone :-)

Bex it's always good feeling when you pay something off.

I spoke to the registrar today we can phone end of April to get an appt to give notice (6-8 weeks before wedding here). Least I know what's happening with that.

Also booked with my cake lady for 30th may to finalise flavours and design only thing we are changing is the tartan ribbon.

Getting kilts sorted hopefully next weekend (oh might need to be away with work so fingers crossed he's not)

Does it sound like a good deal?

I thought it did, I were expecting them to be a lot more because of how good they are, so was very happy at the price for them but then thought they were a good deal anyway. So glad you think so as well. I worked out it's £55 per person, which when you consider mine will be more then everyone else's it's not even £55 for the others (if that makes sense lol)

I'm really looking forward to my consultation tomorrow now :D

I was supposed to be doing uni work tonight and I'll try and do a bit but I can imagine I'm going to be mainly just doing hair research haha

thefurute Mrs Hurren I'm the same, I hate my hair up but I'm hoping as the style is quite loose around the face it will be ok.
I'm crap at doing hair so when I do put my hair up its just a case of scraping it back into a tight ponytail, which is why I probably hate having my hair up.

Didn't get to talk too much to my hairdresser as my fiancé ended up coming with me (he drove and then we went shopping) so we couldn't talk about the dress or style much (I suppose he will see my hair before the day as he'll no doubt see me after my trial) but it would be nice if I could keep it all from him.

But still exciting to get it all booked properly :) spoke to the hairdresser and the make-up lady and they are both lovely, I'm so excited!!!!

Going to send her my pics over facebook as well, as my printer is running low on ink so the pics didn't come out great.

Oh and I would like to thank you all for pushing me to book my hairdresser btw, the day you said I needed to sort one I emailed her (well the night) she messaged me back in the morning and said that they were free that day but someone else had been contacting her about it. When I was free at work I called and got myself pencilled in, anyway when I went to pay my deposit she said that the other lady had called up after me to book :/ I felt a bit mean for beating her to it, but then at the same time... I'm glad I did as I really wanted them.

I've got weddings coming out my ears or that's what it seems my best friend is getting married in March, wee cousin in May, mine in August, another friend in November then my sister is next May and as I'm her bridesmaid I'm doing stuff for that too. It's all go here with weddings. Tbh I'm a bit fed up with it all lol, going dress shopping with my sister feb/March 3 Saturday's in a row and can see it far enough her other BM is a size 8 and I'm prob a size 18 and she has shown designs that she likes but I can't wear them as I am very big busted and don't want people to get an eye full.

So glad you got booked when you did Donna I know it's rubbish for the other bride but you got their first.

My friend only booked her wedding in October she was meant to get married last April but they fell out and the still had loads of stuff from before so they booked it and done it quicker.

I think it's better if MUA and hairdressers work together mine does both she was a hairdresser and people kept asking her to recommend MUA so she decided to go back to college and train and I personally think she is amazing, she get booked up 18months in advance.

We collected our rings today :) they have been safely stored at my FMIL's house. I forgot to take a photo but I will be there tomorrow so will take one then. FMIL also asked us what still needed paying for, h2b said everything is pretty much paid for except the honeymoon, she said she'd have a chat with FFIL & let us know how much they could give us for the honeymoon.
I felt so awkward!! I hate people offering to pay for things, especially when I know they could put there money to better use.

Meeting up with my MOH & her sister tomorrow so will hopefully finalize the hen do, we're going to set up an event on f@ceb00k so that we know who is interested in coming & will book from there.

The Hair & make up lady i'm interested in using does it by herself but as my wedding isn't until 4pm she should have plenty of time.

Thanks for doing that for me. I can't afford the "real" ones as there £200, found a close copy but they are like £65 and there is no returns on them and it states on the website the actual shoe can vary in half a size up or down which is useless!

If any has seen anything like the ones I like, doesn't need to have the sparkle but heel/platform on those are perfect for me. X

Oh sorry to hear you are having such a rough time :( *hugs*

I hope you and oh are okay after the shock of losing his mum so quickly, was it an accident or illness that you didn't know about?

Aghh about the dress, at least it's getting sorted though and it got picked up on now and not just before the wedding.

As for your friends, try not to stress about it-hopefully they'll be fine to come to the wedding and have the babies either just after or already have their bundles of joy :)

And the shoes, I don't watch it but just looked up some pictures and I won't comment on Beth's dress lol, but those shoes are lovely.
