Hi Vodkachick, we sent majority of ours out end of May (only due to going on holiday) as we also wanted people to have notice and didn't book next years holiday for around the time of our day. We are planning to send our invites out in January (its a bit of a dull month with everyone getting over xmas) so that its something that brightens up a dull January. This also gives us time to invite others if people are unable to attend.
Hope this helps xx
CommentAuthorElinor Claire
We're not bothering with official save the dates, but we've passed the word around to the key people, and via friends and families most of our guests are aware of the date. Invitations will go out in January.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

my dress is an ivory Victoria Kay strapless with bits of bling on it with with a longish train...cant decide on a veil or just tiara tho x
CommentAuthorHappyBunny
I love the idea of just tiara but im a simple girl :) I think it all depends on the jewellery aswell hun xx
CommentAuthorLinzi-jo
Vodkachick have you tried them on with your dress? I always hated the idea of having a veil, but as soon as the lady in the dress shop put one on me with my tiara and my dress I loved it! I couldn't imagine not wearing it now! xxx
Got together 14.02.2008
Got engaged 31.12.2010
Will become a Mrs on 30.08.2014 xxxxxx

hello everyone, i am new to this thread, got engaged a month ago date set for aug 2014!! its great to hear what everyone else is up to keeps me on track!!
CommentAuthorbarbie86
vodkachick: I agree with Linzi-jo, try one if you haven't. I was quite anti-veil, but then decided to try a cathedral-length one on, and it looks BEAUTIFUL; I feel like a proper bride. It's a plain ivory single-tier veil with a cut edge, and just about covers my train at the back; it complements the shape beautifully. I'll only be wearing it for the ceremony and some photos, and then I'm popping in a glitzy slide in its place.
CommentAuthorvodkachick
cheers girls ....another excuse to go back and try the dress on :-) xx
CommentAuthormistaken4u
Just got my dress on Sunday. £200 down from around £1500. It has a couple marks on the end of the train from when it was lent out for a photoshoot. It's too long anyway so will get it shortened. I'm glad I found it, means more money to go elsewhere. Haven't decided on a veil yet, not sure I like them.
CommentAuthorFionaR41
mistaken4u - thats a brilliant bargain, it was obviously meant to be the one for you.
Carolineh21 - congratulations on your engagement, what date have you chosen for your wedding?
It's taken a while to find my Prince

I've got a little lacy bolero from D'hams. I'm now planning to stitch musical symbols on it in gold.

Hiya, I'm getting married on the 9th August 2014. So far h2b and I have sorted:
Church, Reception Venue, Guest List, favour bags, basic table plan, cars, ring cushion, photographer and engagement party.
Still searching for 'THE dress', but know a rough idea of BMs dresses (need to get them all together to check the style works on them all as they all live all over), know what suits we're getting for the guys - just waiting on MIL2B to book them, and have an appointment booked in for our rings!

Aaarrgghh........ everytime i look at this thread i get all panicky...... All I have done is booked my venue for ceremony and reception. I've chosen my car and putting down a deposit this week hopefully. Havent picked bridesmaid dresses or my dress....or anthing else really...... Feel a bit like i'm not sure where to start as i'm worried i'l change my mind as time goes on. Need to get on it....... Where has everyone started?? Dresses??
Cant wait to marry my best boy :)
I love him to the moon and back
Eeeeeeeee!!!!
CommentAuthorvodkachick
finally made a choice on the invitations so that's another tick off my list
got car sorted......we only live about 5 minute drive from the church (and the venue is across the road from the church) so because my dad has a large posh looking people carrier we are going to get ribbons for the front of it and my bro in law gonna drive it for us....dad will have to take some seats out to get me and my dress in so means a few trips to church with the MOH, bridesmaids, page boy and my mum but wud rather do that than pay a lot for a car that we don't need for long.
still need to sort favours, rings, lingerie, hair and makeup, veil and tiara x

Happybunny More fun for you Plan away.. I have been a bit silly i still havent booked the church so i really need to asap as once its gone its gone, I sort of get caught up in diy stuff and forget the big stuff... Maybe i wouldnt make a good wedding planner lol
CommentAuthorMrsX2b
Hi vodachick, Thats lovely, We honestly picked it as me and my h2b just wanted that date we dont know why. How cute for your grandson. I would have loved pageboys and flowergirls. Hair is so annoying lol. I was ment to be getting married sept 2011 but had to put it off because of my hair, very long story, So i started planning again the month after i was ment to get married so my venue was booked back in oct 2011. Seems like ages ago lol
CommentAuthorHappyBunny
Im no good at diy :( think im going to try and do some of brillys salt dough hearts for decorating the venue, im not too bad at sewing so debating making my own bunting. The rest ill leave upto the professionals. Our big stuff is booked, even remembered to ring the registrar snd ask if they were available on the date we wanted before we booked the venue xx
CommentAuthorMrsX2b
Happybunny, I seen brillys diy stuff its all amazing, U should give the salt dough ago. I wish i had booked my church early need to go this week really.

Hooray for wedding twins ChanelP! The 9th August is the date the wedding fell into place for us with the venue and the church. Seems to have been lucky for us so far with the availability of the suppliers we want so I'm hoping that's a good sign!

My veil has been posted today. Very excited. I thought it would be good to deal with some of the more manageable costs early, before the big bills need to be paid. I've also got my shoes and a little lacy bolero.

Yay!!! And where ru from Mrs cross to be? I am from cornwall And I am getting married in a small church a few miles away. The cost from the ceremony is the vicar at the school I teach at :)

I am from Preston (Lancashire) but currently live in East Sussex near Gatwick Airport. Getting married up north and my old primary teacher who became a vicar is marrying us!
CommentAuthorMrsCross2be
PS I am a teacher too!
CommentAuthorCheekyTerri
I'm feeling a little left out of the teacher/vicar linked to school thing. One of my bridesmaids is a teacher, and the vicar marrying us is attached to the infant school I went to (unfortunately my old vicar when I was at the school has long since moved on). Does that count?
Yay for wedding triplets though! Feeling like this is a good day to get married.
I found and ordered my dress today. It's gorgeous! How are you doing with your planning MrsCross2be? Chanel is way ahead of me!

Sure there must be HappyBunny! Maybe they just haven't found the site yet?
Dresses are definitely the best part. :D Didn't realise how long it takes to get them in until I started looking! Glad I started early though.
How are you doing on your planning? I've only got the cake and the flowers as the two main things to get sorted out now. Got loads of little things to do still though. Excited to get started on sorting out favours and bathroom baskets etc now though!
