Oh vodkachick that is a shame, hope everything is ok sweetie. but I hope you enjoy the extra planning time xxx

I now have a florist and I LOVE her :) I just feel like she 'gets me' and she is kind and lovely! Not too bad on price either I think teardrop bouquet for me, 2bridesmaid bouquets, 12 button holes, 6 wrist corsages and all church flowers/pew ends for £500. Not toooo bad, and she seems worth it!
OH has finally done something about cars! 2 cars booked provisionally just waiting on his dad having a look at them on our behalf (as we are so far away)
    :D

Thanks crawf and linzi-jo. Wedding fayre wasn't quite what I expected. I expected a lot more items to be on display and not just tables full of leaflets. Good job I didn't pay to get in or maybe that's why there wasn't much there.

Thank you Elinor Claire, those music choices will really help me I am sure. I went to a really good wedding fair in Oxfordshire today, really helpful and gave us options with both rings and wedding cake.

I am now starting to get stressed lol. Done most things, but it feels like we still have loads left to do!

    So far we've:

    Booked the venues
    Chosen our menu options
    Booked the photographer
    Chosen the cake
    Booked the string trio
Bought 3 of the bridesmaids dresses
    Booked honeymoon
    Ordered my ring
    Sent save the dates
    Chosen the invitations
Bought mother of the bride outfit
Booked one of my hen dos
    Chosen and booked flowers
    Booked hair and make-up
    Booked band and DJ

    Still to do:

    Table plan
    Choose favours
    Buy OH's suits and shoes
    Buy groomsmen's ties
    Choose readings and music
    Give notice (!)
    Buy bridesmaids gifts
    Choose readings and music
    Book OH's stag do

    ARGH!

Where are you doing your gift list, barbie86? I was going to head to John Lewis.
To be honest, I think most guests will give us money, but I don't want to miss out on doing an in-store gift register. Is it like in the movies where you get a little scanner-gun?

I think you get a gun, but honestly, I'm not sure lol.

We're undecided between John Lewis or Debenhams, or both. I like JL stuff, but D'hams gives you 10% off any items not purchased by your guests if you buy them yourself after (so you can be crafty and put a couple of high priced things on knowing no-one will buy them and take advantage of the discount lol), plus a £50 gift card when £250 is spent on your list.

We're def registering though as we'll be moving into our first home together after the wedding, so we need things like crockery and cutlery, pots and pans, etc :-)

Eeeeeek I am planning my hen do!!! In Vegas, baby! I am so excited!!! I get free flights through work, so we only need to pay for hotel and spend between me and my MoH. We are only going for 3 nights, but I really hope I am not going to bottle it last minute. Being away from my daughter for 4 whole days is going to be a killer, but I know H2B is going to love having her to himself.

I can't wait! I wish I could take more people, but I "only" get free tickets for myself and a companion.
Getting a bit stressed about all the wedding plans now, but a good stressed so far. I think I might go and try some wedding dresses on tomorrow. I have a random day off work, but my MoH doesn't, so I'll be on my own. But it wont be until 9feb, that we have a day off together and I am so impatient. Then again, I don't want to take away any fun for her (is it fun for them?). I think if I go to a different shop with her on 9feb, I should be alright, if I just don't tell her I went dressshopping.

Well, nobody talked me out of it, so I went and tried on wedding dresses. First shop, 4 dresses in and boom there it was! My dress! I had to tell porkies about my Dad paying for the dress (I wish) and not wanting to spend more than 2000 £. I think she caught on, though, because she wouldn't tell me the desginer (kept changing the subject) and only wrote a description of the dress on my quote card. I did spot that it was a Mark Lesley, though and I found a picture of it. My grandma thinks she can make something very similar to it and said she would work with me to make it perfect. I am so lucky to have my Grandma. It will only cost me 150-200 £ in materials plus a humongous thank you gift for my Grandma for everything she is doing for us. I am going to try on more dresses with my MoH on Monday, though, just so she can join in the fun :)

I'll upload some pictures in a bit. We went and bought all the materials for it yesterday 110£ for my dress and my DDs flowergirl dress together! She won't start making it until April though, so she can get the measurements right. She is going on holiday in October and I am thinking about upgrading their flights as a thank you gift.

Well I have been saying for months that I didn't want high heels as my OH is the same height as me and I didn't want to tower over him,, but I found shoes today and they are perfect.. And high heeled. I wear heels everyday so it only fits for me to have heels on my wedding day!
    £105 reduced to £29!! Bargain!!!
Going to get another pair of low heels for pictures and for the evening I think!
I do love my new shoes though!!!

We have changed our mind and are getting married in a church now Woohoo! We didn't think we could afford it, but the money we would safe on the cars (the church is right be the club we booked), would cover the extra for the church. So we are going to give notice at the register office today at 3.30 and then going to meet a lady at the church to book the date at 6PM. I am in work until 2.30PM, H2B has an appointment at 2.30PM, so I will meet him at the register office. All that with a toddler in tow. Wish us luck :D

Marrying.Ryan if you are marrying In a CofE church you don't have to give notice, it's only if you marry in a Catholic Church that notice has to be given, otherwise you will be spending £75 for something you don't need to do! Xxx

Oh right with United Reformed Church you do have to give notice. It's just with CofE that it's different because it's the state church. Any other church you treat as you would a civil venue.
