If you have kids buy everything from *******, I dont have kids and get everything from there anyway. Its cheap and most things can be personalised, I got my h2b a dressing gown with his name on for 15 squid. Theg personalise stockings, pencils, chairs, outfits literally amazing. You have to buy it on credit, but I hate credit so just pay it off immediately but it could be helpful if you're trying to spread costs over time. I have normally got their 24 metre rolls of Christmas paper by now and wrapped up most of the presents for delivery to the loft! For 2.99! They are amazing, trust me im a bargain hunter!

Our notice of intention to marry has now been done :) h2b did his last Tues and I have done my today - we live in different counties........ thats one less thing to worry about nearer the date but am so excited now .
i totally forgot about my dads details being on the certificate and made a complete idiot of myself getting upset when asked about him - he passed away 7 years ago - it never occured to me they would ask. i should have remebered though from ny 1st wedding that his name was on the certificate, but that was so long ago. They did say i will get asked again on the day so i must remember to take plenty of tissues with me for that part !!!

Sometimes think I am getting ahead of myself with the planning/booking but at least it's one less thing to worry about later.
Going to start making the invites soon and looking at when others sending theirs out,January seems like a good month.
Going to harrogate on Saturday,as found a hairdresser to try.just asked for hair to be curled and pinned up without saying it's potentially a trial as some places I rang quotes silly prices as soon as I said wedding trial!! Looks like going alone as daughters cant make it,one back at uni and other busy with family :| .. Ah well I shall just have a wonder about and may pop into the wedding show that is on in harrogate too.. Going to see a florist too on the way so fingers crossed get a better price than the last one which quoted me £800!!!!

Still waiting on news from caterer. I have literally done NOTHING wedding related this month..

Actually tell a lie we gave notice of marriage, slight embarrassment I told the lady I was certain the second middle name of Tony was something completely different. (Well they both began with m, and to be fair his grandad dropped us of and was talking about his cousin who's name I said, it's also his brothers middle name, very awks) Didn't even notice until she wrote it out on our wedding planner!! She was sworn to secrecy and she didn't tell Tony!! Silly future wife here!!

well we have moved the date (by 1 day) and moved the venue and have an appointment with the wedding coordinator next week. I have also just received dress number 2, as it was going to cost £200 for beading work and I now have the original dress I love, and ordered my flowers £85 in total. Just need to make invites and save lots of money ready to pay for it all...oh and my honeymoon is now all sorted and we are definately going to get to tour Itally in the first 2 weeks of our marriage. realy want the day to be hear but I know I still have lots to do that I've forgot about.

Thought I'd check back in with an update!

As of now the things we have done are:

    Booked venues
    Booked the registrar
    Booked the photographer
Booked the string trio, band, and DJ
    Booked the cake
    Booked the flowers
    Booked the honeymoon (yay!)
Bought my dress and taken in it for alterations
Bought 3 of the bridesmaids dress
Sent out the save the dates
    Decided on the rings
Decided on some of the ceremony music

Things we have left to do are:

Attend the menu tasting (6th November) and decide on our options
Order the invitations and RSVP cards and add ribbons/embellishments to them
    Buy OH's suit
Buy the shirts and ties for the groomsmen
    Buy 2 more bridesmaids dresses
Buy gifts for the bridal party
    Book our pre-wedding shoot
    Order the rings
Decide on the other piece for the ceremony
    Give notice
    Register for our gift-list

Feel like we've done most big things now; and have plans to do most of the other big things over the next 2 months, so, getting there!

Had an awful nightmare last night though lol where OH hadn't bought his suit and we hadn't bought the groomsmen's tie and shirts, and we only had 3 days to go! I swear I woke up sweating and shaking lol

Youd be able to get domething no problem 3 days begore the wedding, so if that ever came true, you'd be alright! Hell, the ice sculpture company have done 3 hour notice stuff before!

Think of the wonders achieved on DTTB in just 3 weeks, most in about 7 days work due to the procrastination and boozing!

OK so I wasn't going to start looking for dresses yet, but I saw a bargain on the Bay of E and I won it!! Brand new with tags still on!! It is an Elli$ bridal gown, and it was purchased from my local wedding shop and never worn. I won it for £62!!! Just been to collect it, and it's so much nicer than on the photo's. Happy girl

I'd love to put them up, but I do worry that people I know who are also getting married are on here and might see them. In all the pictures of wedding dresses I have seen, they all look lovely and light, but I didn't realise how heavy they are.

Wow that's amazing. No doubt it will allow you to put more money elsewhere in the budget. When I found a sample I saved about £500, and we then allowed ourselves £500 over budget on the honeymoon so that we could have a nicer cabin on the cruise.

I'm the same; I keep feeling like I should be planning but there's not much I can do. H2B's mum is working on the invitations and will send us a mock up soon. We're going through the playlist for the evening do, which involves playing all the music on H2B's computer and gradually eliminating things. I have booked an appointment for my bridesmaids to sort out dresses in January, and I need to sort out the appointment for the one that lives in the North-East, as we'll deal with that when we're up there visiting at Christmas. I'm not dragging her all the way to Cardiff.

Just booked in the suits for the men today. :) Got 9 suits for £570! Shirts, waistcoats, cravats, trousers and jackets. Shoes are only an extra £5 per person if we get them as well. Feeling like a bargain hunter. Also found a couple of bridesmaid options, and if we get the dresses at the shop too, we get an even bigger discount on both!

That's really good. I'd like to get involved with buying/choosing my fiance's suit, but he said I pick my dress, so he picks his suit. I'm now back to square 1 with my centrepieces. We went to our venue the other night, and I didn't realise how big the tables were, and the candelabras we bought are too small, and would look silly. We need taller ones. Ho hum, back looking again

    Ladies, need some advice....
Was randomly trawling the internet a few weeks ago and thought id see if our Photographer has any new photos on her website... clicked on the link and it says 'having my make up re-applied, back soon'
Its been like this for weeks - (i keep checking) i emailed her before i looked at her website regarding payment and I got a reply within an hour or so.
Ive just looked today and the website leads to adverts and says the domain has expired... im having a bit of a meltdown and just wondering whether im just worrying too much about this or maybe I should look at someone else.

    What are your thoughts?

Have only paid the deposit so it's not too much but still not good.
We do have a contract too. Unfortunately no premises to pay a visit either :-(
I've googled her name and it just brings that info up, she was on the book of face but seems to have disappeared too.
I'm thinking of maybe sending another email just enquiring about her website and see what's said :)

So much for me not planning much for the rest of the year. This weekend we have bought the wedding rings, and the wedding cake. We were only planning a simple 2 tier cake, as we are only having about 50 guests, but ended up buying a 4 tier one lol. I was also planning on a simple flat profile wedding ring, but now having emerald cut diamonds in it.

    It's all coming together nicely
