Loads of people who I thought were going to come to the wedding can't make it :-( They are all from my side of the invites as well. I'm trying not to get too down about it but it's difficult.
Maybe I should auction or raffle the extra invites out! We have a minimum number of guests that we thought would not be a problem and we were worried we would have to many and how we would cut numbers, turns out its the opposite problem now.
In reality I will just bump a few people from evening only to day as well as we have to pay for the minimum day people whether or not that many turn up. H2B bless him feels bad for me as he knows it's getting me down and he has said that he isn't going to invite any more to the day as he has more coming from "his" invites than I do. Funnily enough because I have such a large family he was worried his invites would be outnumbered by mine!!

i have come across a similar stumbling block, my h2bs family is a lot smaller than mine and we are limited by budget but when we wnt through the list i only had my immedaiate family my gran and an aunt !! i do have a certain amount of close frinds who i couldn't get married without but i am considering a rewrite of the list!!

Our main problem comes from the fact that out of 31 people invited on my mum's side (aunts & Cousins) only 3 appear to be coming. I knew some couldn't make it but not that many!!

I'm the same we can only have 60 on day including bridesmaid and us. My H2B has like 40 of the invites, bridesmaid and partners take up another 10 and there for I was left with like 10 seats. Now I'm a bit upset cuz I dont have my close friends or family members that I would like but I suppose I will just have to put up with it!!
Yeah bump up your side from the evening, your H2B shouldn't feel bad this is just usually what happens at weddings in my experience of going to them lol xx

The majority of them are in Ireland and some of them them I knew wouldn't be able to come as they are due to give birth June/July so can't/won't fly and we haven't invited children which impacts on some of them. There are a few who said they would definitely come over but when the rsvps came through they can't come. I guess I knew there was a worry some wouldn't/couldn't come but I do feel al bit let down by some of them.
This was one of the things I was worried about when we picked a late availability date. Funny thing is that everyone H2B has invited is coming!!! It's good of him to want to make sure we have an even set of guests bless him. he keeps giving me lots of hugs about it too!!
