*haven't read all thread, so apologies if repeating?!*

Haven't Asda done a Wedding collection previously...? I could swear they have...

I have NO problems with Wedding attire being sold in a 'supermarket' ... Asda are not just bread sellers etc.

Also, just a little 'word to the wise' ... ever wondered where these dresses come from..be they sold in a Bridal boutiques, High Street shop...Online...Asda...they ALL start from a main supplier then get bought buy the particular shops 'buyers' and sold *wherever* ... another thing that makes me chuckle is just cause a dress may cost £3k say *random price* that does NOT definatly mean you will be the most 'blushing bride on the block'!!!!

l have worked for asda for 24yrs, yes they did wedding before in a limited number of store's so it was difficult to get!!
we do sell more than bread! asda work very closely with the manufactors of all there products and both are agreeable of the numbers, asda make huge commitments on quality and price and thats why the returns policy is world class.

I agree Katie, who cares if it cost £30k or £300 all that matters is the couple are happy and in love and choose to share that day with us, who cares what she looks like as long as she is happy with the way she looks!

Well said CeCe!! A family friend has a small shop that sells ballgowns ect. The order comes into store at say £100 a dress, they hang it, steam it and then add a lovely new tag with an extra zero on the end. Every bridal shop is the same. Makes me laugh! Half of her dresses are from the chinese on ebay yet some of the customers she sells to "would never buy one from there, so cheap!" lmao.

Well, taken a look at the Asda site after hearing about their wedding dresses and I must say, quite impressed. Yes, quite plain and perhaps a little basic but with a bit of time and effort, beads, sequins, ribbons etc and a MIL to be who is an accomplished embroiderer, the dresses have the potential to be quite extraordinary. Certainly worth considering I reckon....

Its certainly got me thinking, and it would mean £400-500 to spend elsewhere and not on the dress. Honeymoon spending money for example! Wasnt planning on seriously looking until September and might just order one then just to have a look at it, quality etc, and to see whether it could be made into something spectacular.

Just had a peek at the dresses and think they are lovely. Ok maybe a little basic for some, (but in my opinion, perfect as I don't like frilly bits and flounce!) and could easily be dressed up and personalised with added embelishments :0)

they quite nice i fink, notwhat i wud choose to get married in but stil very nice. i fink its each to their own. if someone is happy to wear one of asdas dresses then i say go for it and they wud be lively for a beach wedding abroad, and if they not bothererd that loads of other ppl will wear the same dress then its not a problem. personally i need a dress with a bit more structure at the top to keep my mummy tummy and my huge boobs under control ha ha xx
