i've not done ascot but do love going the races! people can spend as much money or as little as they like. Depends which bit you go in - the posher it is the more expensive the entry, drinks and dress code! i never bet more than £2 a race and tend to stop when i start losing! am tempted to go the races for my hen night now but that's a while off yet! x

i went to ascot for the 3 days when it was held at york for one year, it was good but very expensive and the dress code is way over the top-ladies cant have thier shoulders out or anything, and depending on what section your in, you have to wear a hat and things like that. everything was well over priced just because its associated with ascot! im having a day at york races for my hen do, then out in the night afterwards-its a great place to have a hen do, and its all on the doorstep! its a cheaper alternative if york is something you would consider? let me know if you'd need any help with finding cheap places to stay/go xx

apparenty you can take your own alcohol and food so that should cut costs down plus itd only be for one day. Thats what ive seen as well Daffy. think we might do that, although ive surrendered all control over to my friend who is a party animal so we will probably be thrown out anyway before placing any bets..........

I havent done ascot but I have done newmarket races. They do things called newmarket nights and you basically go to the races in the day then there is a concert in the evening. It was boyzones when I went last year. They have a special section there for hen nights aswell. Its a brilliant day out. I would certainly go again and the tickets were only £35.

ooh it does sound good. think we are going to go into the silver circle where you can take your own food and wine. that way its much cheaper and all we have to to is pay for entrance. cant wait!!!!

Oooh sbride that sounds fab! I had an email the other day from bath racecourse - they do a deal in the summer with a concert in the evening, the band is the Wurzels!! As H2B is from Somerset and we are getting married down there it would be quite apt - have pitched the idea to my MoH - although it may not be the Wurzels in 2 years I spose :o(
