it depends..... I think its fine and tbh in a wayh I would prefer it as you know that you will do everything you want to to. I was organising mine since my sisters kept messing it up but in the end my friend has taken control and whilst I am sure she will do a great job, like you I am worried e.g. about strippers etc. I dont think she will do it to be but you never know. Therefore, if you want to do your own, I say go ahead.

    Thanks girls
My Sis should really be the one to organise but she does not know my friends
I have friends all over the place and my sis is rubbish at organising anything!!! We are complete opposites!
Plus a lot of my friends have families and will need to arrange childcare and prior notice to put some money away over the next year if needed

I basically did the ground work i.e. who is happy to come to York? Organised the hotel room etc and then my friend took over so maybe you could just do the ground work?

I am in the same situation. I have been left to organise it because my sister does not know any of my friends or anything like that. Its ended up I doubt I will have one, cos I work week days, my sister works weekends, and all my friends work a combination of both! I think if you know what you want, and youw don't want any surprises then it is definitely best to organise your own!

Im organising mine by myself. Its easier as i have a wide group of friends and not everybody knows each other, this way i can keep in contact and update everyone who's invited. I have also created a book of facepage so everyone can see and comkment etc where needed x

I dont mind, it saves me a job! lol I think if you know exactly what it is you want and you believe that nobody else could organise it better than you then go for it! It is your night afterall!! xxx

I've voted no, I'm organizing my own hen night...I think!!! LOL I've arranged for us to go for a meal, then to our local social club, then back to mine for more drinks with trivia and games. I've made the invites and I'm organising everything. As far as I know there's no surprises, but you can never know what your friends are planning behind your back can you, but they've had strict instructions that I defo don't want no stripper.

I organised my own. I'm a natural organiser and supposedly so was my London BM. However, she proved to be next to useless at organising my hen, so I ended up doing it! I don't really mind as it meant I knew exactly what we were doing and when and I got to exactly what I wanted to without the fear of any horrible (stripper) surprises :)

No I don't think it's wrong at all. I decided where mine was going to be, we are all going away over night so I invited who I wanted to come and asked them for the money for the hotel, didn't think it was right my sis asking folk she didn't know for money! Then I booked the rooms etc and I have now left it in the hands of my sis x

I think if you know what you want and think others wont be able to do it then why not. But if you've a good bunch of girls/friends that can organise a good get together, why not let then arrange something for you after all the hard work of planning the wedding. I think I'll be doing my own as all my moh is interested in is going to town and getting bathered. Having a drink or two I'm fine with, but getting so blind drunk and not remembering the night is not lol x

Oh god, sort it yourself it's much easier. I am meant to be goin to Belfast in June and my MOH was supposed to be organising
it but I've had to book the hotel, sort out the flight money which I've only received off 3ppl out of 18. The flights have now shot
up in price. They wanna start drinking as soon as we get there which is about 10am and make a full wknd of it.
I barely drink and wud really like to see the sights as never been before. I'm not bothered about the gettin sloshed
part of it, just wanna enjoy my time with friends. You still need to include your sis so that she feels at least she's
contributed to some of it x

I have finally found my soulmate
On 1st Sept 2012 I will become Mrs Curry

my sister (MoH) wanted to arrange mine, but what she wanted what completely different to what I want. So I took matters into my own hands and am now having a hen party that I'm looking forward to :o)
Amy wanted to get me dressed up in all the hen party stuff (hate, hate, hate it!) and go out drinking but that is miles from what I want to do. We are now going to London overnight to see a show, do some shopping and have a civilised evening out :o)
If you know what you want, and you know thats not what you'll get if someone else organises it, then I'd get it sorted yourself :o)

i am arranging the whole wedding and in charge of everything. i like the thought of having no control over the hen.

I'll probably end up organising my own or at least part of it. I want a spa day but don't want to book a hen party at a spa as it costs more just book a day when they have an offer on.
Then would like a night in our local town with work.
Anything else is up to moh but no stripper.

Lol. I think It's a grey area, unless you pay a fortune or order a rolly-polly gram you might not get what you asked for.

At one aunts hen they ordered a just down to boxers stripper when he turned up he said he only does down to a thong so wanted more money and then was bordering on anorexicly thin. The other aunts they asked for a 'black' man (sorry of that offends don't know the correct term) and he said he was quite dark, when he turned up he was orange like an oompa loompa and took his trousers off to reveal nothing underneath within about 30 seconds.

h2b and I organised our hag do together. Neither of us were interested in nights out on the town, mass drinking etc... h2b doesnt drink anyway and sees strippers on a regular basis at the bike club gents nights so he wasnt fussed about that and for me i felt weird at the idea going out without him and my other male friends. We have all be such good friends for so long and i am good friends with his brother etc as well that it seemed silly to split everyone up, especially when we have the same interests as well.
We organised a mass laser tag game and were lucky enough for the woods to be all snowey when we went. 34 of us in total played, brides team, grooms team and best mans team and we split up all couples so we were all shooting at each other. This was followed by a mass pub lunch / carvery and was all round a fantastic day. Was us, and thats what its all about. Celebrating by doing something you enjoy with people you care about :D

Who says you cant? Surely its about what YOU AND H2B want?! Not what everyone else says?
We had a brilliant day, and so did everyone who came and i am really pleased we did it, dont regret a single thing. Dont worry about what anyone else says, you do what you want with h2b.

None of us are big drinkers/club goers etc and on top of that my H2B hasnt got many friends due to moving down to plymouth from nottingham in the recent years so it wouldnt be fair me going out with my mates and him just having his step dad and my step dad

speak to h2b and do what YOU BOTH want, dont worry about anyone else. I found that there was a whole lot of people who werent worried about it being my hen night, they just wanted an excuse to hit the town get drunk and hire a stripper, which is great if thats what you want, but if its not your cup of tea why should you do it to please everyone else?

Why not have a joint do but not give it a hag/hen/stag title? Can just be a pre-wedding dinner? Think we're gonna do that as well as have our separate dos. i'm looking forward to my hen do as much as the wedding (5 days in Ibiza!), no way I'd forsake it for a joint do but am happy to do both and I really think it's another one of those things where you should do what makes you happy and not what convention says!
