not the real discussion topic i wanted to write, but seeing as the one i wanted to write would have contained a lot of ******************* thought better not

My venue is doing my nut. 3rd attempt at getting a contract right and It is still wrong. They dont even know their own package....

Errors in the 2ndt one including name spelling, missing father of the bride speech off timeline, saying i had confirmed number

their package is 5-14 yr olds get 1/2 portions and under 5s have chicken nuggets. on the contract the under 5s arent eating and the 5-14 are having chicken nuggets.

thats the main one, and there are still loads of issues.

the thing is do i lose my temper or do i bite my tonguee, make the admendments and hope for the best and not ruin a potential professional relationship.

i would call them and ask for a meeting in person. sit down and be very strict with them. point out every single mistake telling them it needs sorting NOW!
I would go mad. we wouldnt even sign the original contract (18 month from wedding) until my oh name spelt correctly. lol

    Go mad!!
In all honesty I think venues have that many packages they dont no what they doing.

Mine having been that bad so far, Just keep askin what package Im on and if i can remind them of certain things. And the people they work with are the same.
The packages at my venue also over lap. So then the venue gets confused if im having a winter package or an autum package. They make things confusing for themselves! lol

I would defo have a go over the phone to them to be honest!! arrange some sort of meeting as Jordan has suggested.
It's unprofessional for them to be doing this so you need to sit them down and get them to sort it out. xx

we signed the one that was tbc on everything. im refusing to sign anything else. the thing is, we have had the meeting after the mess-up of the 2nd one and the taster meal. I am going to write it out myself, based on what we have agreed i think. i really hope that it would be sorted now. get married in 7 1/2 weeks

Definitely get it all written out yourself, with everything that should be included & then go in and speak with the manager or someone superior. not the wedding coordinator assigned to you but someone of higher authority.

I thought we had it bad with no coordinator at the moment, this will be our 3rd one!! but obviously not!!

The fact you are only 7.5wks away they shouldnt be putting you through this stress, im assuming you have another meeting to confirm final things about month before the big day? Even so, I'd arrange to speak to someone like events manager or someone other than whom you have been dealing with currently. Take in your amended contract with everything that should be on there along with the wrong details contracts too, and just get it all off your chest and out in the open.
This is definitely not the professional way they should be dealing with it ESPECIALLY less than 2 months to go.

    xx

Stupid thing is the meetings have been with the deputy manager, we dont want the co-odinator anywhere near it. when they replaced the old one, they went for someone with corparate experience and no weddings,

yeah we have a final meeting on the 16th feb to pay and confirm numbers and table layouts, but we not even manage to see the function room to work out layout. been asking for that for 3 weeks...

if they think i will be refering any brides to them they got another thing coming, in fact i will be steering clients away from that venue.

seriously!? omg cannot believe what they are putting you through hun. I'd definitely want to speak to the manager or someone else to be fair, doesn't seem like the deputy has much knowledge or sense themselves. Are you sure you don't want to go through the coordinator!?

Definitely work everything out how it should be and then take it from there. They definitely need to get their act together, no wonder your fuming!!!

Ours seems so trivial in comparison!
We been trying to go and see the ceremony room set up as ceremony ever since we booked, and luckily theres going to be wedding fayre at the venue and appt the 2 rooms we're using are going to be involved and set up, so because of that, and through the overall events manager we're going to see it!
Our hotel coordinator changed the day we booked the venue, then changed the week after we signed contracts. Then I didnt hear anything for couple of months so emailed them in Nov asking if they had appointed a new 1, turns out they had 2 weeks before, and she was in process of contacting all couples to introduce herself, then slipped a disc in her back and was hoping to return to work by the end of the week (3wks before xmas). the manager said they'd let me know either way within the week! still nothing after NY so I emailed them about 10-14 days ago (the manager still) turns out she's still off with her back, signed off till end of jan & has a Drs appt on 25th so will know more then, then manager can let us know the situation!!
So we have no contact, and meant to have our 4 month meeting sometime next month & currently have no coordinator & no communication!!

I know its nothing compared to yours but I can definitely empathise with your frustrations hun, really hope you can knock their heads together and get through to them.

    xx

the deputy has 20+ years experience, she did my aunts.

Luckily, as it my job the time lines and stuff i can do and i can present her with everything planned down to the last detail, so she is going to have a nice little book on the 16th confirming everything...... and if we not seen the function room by then, then they will have to set it up as per my instructions or be letting me in the night before the wedding.

and ouch, the wedding co-ordinater we signed with left in july and they didnt replace her till november. and that was bad enough. If you want a plan put together for the hotel, let me know and i can work one out with you.

Things like this is why wedding planners are goodd idea, i should have hired a ccompetitor lol.

Ah right ok. well good luck with getting everything sorted for her! definitely need to make sure you see the function room beforehand!

Well the events manager or whoever ive been dealing with said i can come to her in meantime, and said that they've pencilled in to contact me at end of jan to arrange feb meeting (4 month one) and i know that the coordinator has her doctors appointment this week, so if I don't hear anything by first week of feb im contacting them!
I do have a copy of contract and whenever think of stuff concerning venue I write it down so got a nice long list of things I need to ask/do/check etc.

I sometimes wish I had gone down the wedding planner route I really do!! xx

its ok, i am biased towards wedding planners, but i honestly think they are great. I always thought it was what the coordinator does or the venue decorators, but they do so much more and its the bet job in the world.

i think i will kick a** tomorrow. its my wedding after all lol

i know its crazy, but as we only have one person in the upper bracket of that age group we are paying for an adult meal for them. even worse the mess up over the meals is because they thought the high chairs and booster seats were that for age group lol. it will be sorted soon.

they have sent me over another contract so i will see how right that is.
