Oh no! Flybe have just released their winter flight timetable and they have changed their Sunday flight times. If we want to fly to Gatwick from our local airport (Inverness) we would have to leave our venue at 6am for a 7.20am flight down.

There is a flight from Edinburgh at 1435, so we would need to be there for what 1330 at the latest, and its a 4 hour drive from Inverness, so leave our venue at 9am??

do you think we would be fit to drive at 9am??

In all honesty ... Depending on how much you drink and what time you stop drinking you might be... It takes Roughtly 3 hrs to break down a 250ml glass of wine and roughly 2 hours to break down and metabolise a pint of larger....

What about the train up?? I know I've got the sleeper train before to Edinburgh ...

I would ask a very good friend to drive you down or catch the train.

we need to get to gatwick cause that is where I flight to the Maldives is leaving from!

cant check the train times yet. And not sure there would be a train down to Edinburgh on the Sunday that early, and then we would need to get from centre of Edinburgh out to the airport. Its all just stress.

dont know anyone that would drive us, they would all be drinking too. If it was a normal night out, then no way would i even consider driving the next morning, but they do say you dont get drunk at your own wedding, so if i stopped knocking them back at 10pm we should be fine.

oh I dont know!!! decisions. We were so looking forward to having breakfast with everbody the morning after the wedding, which is why having to leave at 6am sucks!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried getting a fixed price from a taxi firm? I know it sounds daft but some of them can do good deals on pre arranged trips like that and its better than losing your license for drink driving. Also do you really want to stop enjoying yourself half way through the night then drive down tired? Its surprising at just how many would be willing to help you if you ask. I would give up a nights drinking to do it for a friend if it was their wedding.

I'd never risk my licence, or my job. Oh we just cant decide what to do!!! the MIL doesnt drink, and she can drive. But H2B wont ask her cause she doesnt like "driving long distances". argh.

a taxi would be perfect solution but FAR too expensive. The taxi would have about a 7 hour drive there and back.

Or is there a flight to heathrow at a better time and then get the train to gatwick ?? My h2b does this gets plane to heathrow and then taxi or train to gatwick to fly home instead of waiting 3 hours for the next flight from heathrow ... Or even stanstead as that's only about 40 min taxi ride and there's train too from there to gatwick

we were in a similar situation but you want to enjoy all thsi time with ur family and pref they morning after. I wouldnt do it personally. We were told we would have to be in man ait port by 7 in the morning and we didnt think it was worth cutting the party short for. also didnt want the rush of having to have a case etc ready and fly off. All things you need to think about

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
