I was just wondering if people were printing out menus for the tables or not? I was going to include the menu in with the invites so that people know what the choices are and can inform me of what they want before the day so I can sort it out with the venue. I was just wondering if I should then print a menu card for the tables as surely by then people will know what they are eating etc. I've seen some photos of tables laid out and they have menus on so I'm not sure if it is the done thing or not. I don't want the table being over cluttered as there will already be candelabras, favour boxes, place names as well as all the glasses, plates etc.

Also if you say yes do them how many per table?

i wont be, as im doing a "help yourself to the food on the table" dinner, but a good point to remember is that if your guests are pre-ordering, maybe a long time in advance, they may forget what they ordered. A short reminder might be adventagoues, for waiting staff with a lot of people to deal with might not remember what your [obscure relative with failing memory] ordered. :]
    Good luck <3 x

I think I might go to the venue and ask them if I can have a table to play with and see if it looks too much by the time everything is on it. I just can't imagine it at the moment and its been a while since I saw the table laid out for a wedding.

I am putting what food people have asked for on the other side of the name cards and then will give a list to the waitresses so they know too

We're doing all-veggie but its Indian cuisine, so we'll get a lot of "what the heck is that?". Our caterer do menus, so we're going for it- additionally, we have some nut allergies in attendance so they need to know what's what.
Oh shoot! I have a citrus allergy as well- I need to tell the caterer to put all the lemons separate from the food (they tend to serve a lot of the hotter dishes with a lemon wedge). Can't have one of my good friends swelling up like a balloon!

If you made your table numbers into freestanding cards rather than using stands, you can double their use by putting an insert with the menu inside

I was thinking about doubling up on the place name cards and having the menu on the inside, just need to work out the cheaper option
