CommentAuthordoangels74
yeah we have paid all deposits etc.... i'm now chasing people to find out when they want final payments for.... thats good that they are letting you pay in 2 instalments .... although a little bit more warning would have been good!!!
Once I have the invites out I'll relax a bit more...

dress nearly finished, cake to be picked up the day before, transport to be paid for but haven't had their invoices yet. Sean is buying his suit at the weekend. Can't decide on balloon colours. Sean is printing off the orders of service each night.

We are getting married in November and are pretty much sorted! (But I do organise corporate events for work & do party planning for my friends so have had a few trial runs as it were.) We have everything bought or booked and all deposits paid, inc our marraige license - you can get them 12 months in advance and our hen & stag parties (complete with payment plans for our guests to cover the cost) I have even had my hair trial! Read all your contracts / bkg info it will always tell you when they want the balance - if not an actual date it will say something like 12 weeks before etc. We put all the payments we need to make on a spreadsheet in date order, even worked out the minimum cost and maximum cost of things like reception then worked out how much needed to come out of which salary on what day to cover the payments. It also meant we could change the number of guests on the sheet and see how much it altered the cost - which will keep you from over inviting! We have all our invites done and are sending them out in batches starting with those furthest away so they can book accommodation first as it is a small hotel. We have written our service and picked all the music inc first dance and opened a savings account for our guests if they wish to contribute to our honeymoon in leiu of presents. We designed our own menus afternoon and evening and negotiated it with our hotel at a cost we could afford, we have done all our own invites and orders of service. We even had a jewellery paty and bought our bridesmaids jewellery with the commission we got from it and we even have all the presents bought for our nearest & dearest! But even the best laid plans are always open to a malfunction and you just have to remember to enjoy your day and that includes the run up to it.....there will always be something you forgot and if money is a concern go back to your providers they will always help you find a way round it....our hotel have been fab - negotiated food & drink prices, room prices for our guests and a hen weekend of Murder Mystery, They also agreed to be paid a basic deposit then 2 payments at intervals in the run up, which means no huge bill and our photographer (we were certain who we wanted but couldn't afford) negotiated price he is just doing less hours so it was affordable to us just means we have to do speeches before we eat and we have to pretend to cut a dummy of our cake so we can get a cake cutting pic and we are giving each table at our evening reception a disposable camera to take pics then instead of proffesional pics but it is a less formal time so I think it will work. We have 3 friends each making a different layer of cake for us, fruit, choc, madeira and another icing them, we are having a swan stand rather than a stack so it will hide any discrepancies, we are decorating church with candles rather than fresh flowers as a cheaper alternative (again had a candle party to get commission to buy them) and bought the cake stand we wanted off e-bay for £12.99 which was £152 new and about £50 to hire! Sometimes you just have to think outside the box to get what you want but at a price you can afford. Start early, think about everything you will need including the little incidentals which soon mount up (inc tans, waxing etc etc) but add that special touch, plan your payments and don't be embarressed to haggle and be honest with yourself about what you have the time and money to achieve and realise nothing ever goes 100% to plan or perfectly just remember don't panic, stress or have a melt down - you know what you planned but your guests won't so they will never know unless it is something catastrophic and even then humour is a great leveller. Hope you all have a wonderful day whenever it is and hope this helps anyone else still in the planning stage.

Almost ready. Just phoned the caterer to arrange the cake to be delivered to them Thursday. Venue available Friday afternoon to drop off the table decorations etc. Minibus arranged to collect the bridesmaids and wedding party from the airport. Just 1 day left at work then 3 weeks off to enjoy married life.

Fingers crossed that UK airspace will be open to flights on Thursday.
CommentAuthorginge23
U must be so excited blaze xx
CommentAuthor[SFc] Blaze
Not sure if its excitement or nerves I'm feeling, but my stomach is turning in knots. Last week I was fine. Really relaxed. Today after work I rushed H2B to town to buy things that I didn't particularly need but suddenly had the urgency to have for the day.
