Hello I havent posted much on here for a while, had a lull in the wedding planning but now its full steam ahead with nearly 6 months to go! we went to book the suits today, got 10% of and groom goes free as we needed 5 suits - edd, my dad, his dad and 2 best men. we called edd's dad when we got out the shop to say we needed to arrange a time for him to go for a fitting and he said he isn't getting dressed up and its only father of the bride thats meant to get dressed up! grrr. i think edd's mum will persuade him to wear it hopefully its just annoying that he thinks he shouldnt have to! anyone else have this problem, or chosen to not include the dads? x

We haven't told any of the groomsmen yet, but we will be having h2b, bestman, my 3 brothers, my dad, his dad and my mum's partner all wearing the same. And anyone who messes with my plans had better run lol

Neither my dad or his want to wear a suit so we have said as long as they wear trousers and cravet and waistcoat, thats fine as we want them to be confortable......told my dad he HAS to wear a jacket for walking me down the isle but he can take it off after! Plus both are big men so really difficult to find suits for them.
for the deal we have groom bestman paigeboy and 2 ushers so were fine :-)

yes, although our guys are all in kilts. But yeah the two dad's are in the same as all the ushers and best man and groom. I just assumed this is what happens!

I always thought that the father of the groom had a matching suit and button hole the same as the father of the bride. Its like how the mothers both wear something nice and get a hat etc.
ours are being told what to wear and they can like or or not come simples!!!... i have my bridezilla b!tch hat on at the mo im taking no messing from anyone!!!

lol yeah i always thought they were meant to wear the same and thats why we ordered him the suit, then when he said he wasn't meant to wear one i was a bit worried. he was clearly just trying to get out of it! cool im glad every one agrees lol xx

Crocadillo you have the same attitude as me, lol. Once the photos are done they can take there jackets off, but I don't want people looking like a sack of sh!t on the photos, lol. If I could afford to dress everyone who was going to be on the photo's I would.

My FIL2B wasn't impressed at all when I asked if he would wear the same suit, infcat he said no. My MIL2B is fab and she talked him into it, his other son is our best man so they will all be in the same suit, as will my usher and my 3 sons, thats a whole lotta brown suits! I don't have the problem on my side. I guess it's a preference, I think he must have realised he might look a little like the odd one out, that's why he agreed....

all of our party are having the same suits, but everyone has burgundy and ivory waistcoats and cravats and h2b has an ivory one, even the pageboy has a burgundy and ivory waistcoat and cravat to match :) x

I was at a wedding last year where the bestmen, groom and father of bride were in morning suits and the father of groom in normal suit and it looked a bit odd...especailly on the group shots. Just tell him he has no choice ha ha

We are having all the men in our wedding party in the same suit. Groom, best man, father of groom, father of bride and my step dad. I thought it would be odd not to have them all the same.

my dad is gonna be in a different suit as he is the only man from my side of the family/friends in the wedding party. thinking it will be a similar style but different colour - prob light grey instead of the charcoal (ish) grey the rest of the men are in.

We're not including the dad's, mine dad's ill so his weight fluctuates dramatically depending on the drugs he's on...plus it's cheaper!! My h2b is going to be in a full 3 piece tweed suit and the idea is that the BM and the Usher wear a brown suit and get a tie in the same tweed!

Not here as Groom and best men are wearing kilts and both fathers have said no so they're in kilts along with my nephew usher who will hopefully escort my niece down the aisle on the day. :)

We had origionally only booked for groom ushers best man and my dad, but I have sine decided that Chris's dad will look the odd one out so now we have to ask him to get a suit. I'm not looking forward to that conversation!

I thought his Dad is meant to wear the suit. Me and my H2B have planned for his Dad to and any wedding thats I'v been to in the past couple of year, the grooms dad has also worn the suit.

Same here Claire, I thought it was standard, so much so that we've not even asked my FIL2B if he will be wearing one, he is and that's it. He's a lovely guy though so I dont see there being any problems. The thing I'm concerned about is that one of the BM and my dad are larger guys but not particularly tall but I looked on the website of the shop I'm planning on using and they do a larger section. Thank god - I'd hate for them to feel embarrassed when they go for a fitting, that's not what its about x

my h2b is wearing a black suit so the best man is buying one and so is my dad i am buying all the cravats etc so they are all the same but im not sure about h2b dad i know shaun told his dasd to wear a black suit and i have ordered a cravat and button hole for him but if he doesnt want to im not to fussed he just wont be part of the wedding party thats all its his choice (lol bit of a bridezilla moment there lol )

hi ladiesi thought it was tradition for all the bridle party to wear the same , Iv just orderd kilt suits for the groom , best man , my dad , and our boys +the page boy who is differnt couse of his age , was think maybe my h2b should wear the sash as well to make him a bit differnt .
