I can't decide whether to get ready at home or at a bridal salon? What do you suggest? Thanks xoxo
CommentAuthorMrsSaraParry!
I think my sister is going to do my make-up for me as I'm getting ready at the venue (hotel), or I may even do my own. I can't really afford to have it done properly :o(

I'm having a make up artist and hair dresser coming to me. I really don't need the stress of going out in the morning so every one is going to come to me and all I have to do is relax. It is only costing me £30 so I can't grumble at all
CommentAuthorLisa Ramos
I'm having mine done at the hotel we are stopping at.
I love my lickle Ava

Wow Jo £30 that's amazing! Yeh I suppose getting it done at the venue is also an option...I just thought it would be nice to get ready at home, but there are going to be so many people around I reckon getting ready somewhere else might be easier? xoxo
I am driving me and my 2 bridesmaids to pick my mum up from her hotel then driving us all to the hairdressers. Getting hair done, then dropping mum back at her hotel then I'm bringing my two girls home to get ready. Doing our own makeup, spent £125 on Benefit stuff so hopefully will look ok. Bit of a run around (which I'm not entirely happy about) but didnt want to risk waiting around for a taxi, and didnt want to trouble my step dad to run us around (not long out of hospital so letting him have a restful morning on the day of the weddings so he can last the whole day without getting too tired). No one else around to ferry us so muggins here will be driving! LOL At least we have the vintage cars booked for the actual wedding! Not driving myself to the wedding.
CommentAuthorMrsSaraParry!
me, sis and mum will be getting our hair done at our hairdressers early on the morning and then we'll all be going over to the venue where I've been told the bridal suite will be available for us to get ready in :o) That's where sis will be doing my make-up and things because we'll be there about 2 hours before wedding. I hope mum will be driving us there, not really discussed it but h2b is likely to need our car I think! xx

I'm undecided. I'm considering asking my bm's to go to hair/beauty salon and getting someone to come to the house for me... do you think that's cheeky? Apart from it being 'my day', it'd take forever if 1 person came to the house to do everybody, this way I dont have to worry about anyone else x

I'm staying at the hotel we're marrying in the night before, and will be doing my own make-up, but getting a hair-dresser to come and do my hair; I wouldn't go to a salon, I'd rather pay extra as I'd just find it stressful, and having had hair-ups done a few times, it's always a bit scary leaving the salon in case it rains/is really windy, I get paranoid it'll get messed up (it never does though; I've had about 4 hair-ups now and the last one lasted 3 days, lmao (yes, I am a tramp lol; I just hate taking it out because they use like 60 pins, a load of hairspray, and back-comb it, grr!!))

i have hairdresser and make up artist coming to me :) I could do without the running around as i suffer with my hips, so this makes it easy for me xx

I'm going to the salon for two reasons - 1. it was much cheaper and 2. my Dad isn't going to handle so many women in his house as it is far less all the women plus hairdressers etc. lol. xxx

mum said I wont want the agro of having to get up and travel to hair dressers etc so we are getting them to come to us at the venue as im staying there the night before. Good job too as I was told that for the five of us we need 6 hours for hair and make up so we will be more comfy staying put. Id strongly recommend this to anyone as there is less faffing about on your part and you can relax a little more on your special day.

I'm having my hair done at my hairdressers lwhich is 2 minutes from my house walking, but not by my normal hairdresser but the salon owner and top stylist who offered to do it for me for £25, which isn't what she normally charges but because all 3 of us use them regular and i recommend them to my friends too. It's handy cos my normal hairdresser is a nail technician too, so she's cutting my hair a couple of days before and then she's doing my nails, and my littlens hairdresser also does beauty and is doing my eyebrow wax lol. The only thing they don't have is the make up artist and as I don't normally wear much make up i'll probably do it myself x
CommentAuthorsuzky123
mummybez thats probably better doing your own make up. I saw on dont tell the bride the other day that a girl who wears little had a make up artist sent and she looked like a clown given the amount of blush she added... she looked soooooooo soooooo pretty after she wiped it off and did it herself. She was gorgeous so its probably best to do it your way or it may look too much.... plus it saves pennies. Ive no idea what im getting charged for hair and make up as im going with my normal hairdresser who will also do make up but im dreading that bill coming in.

Lol i think your probably right suzky about doing it myself in case they suggest bright emerald green or something daft on me which definately isn't me at all. I don't normally wear any during the week because of my job in catering, so even when i wear a little when i go out people say how different i look. For me i think the saying less is more definately is right for me. Maybe tell hubby after your married how much it cost lol. x

he'll file for divorce haha... no hairdresser said he will give me a discount but we will see. i dont know what the normal is. All i know is that i want noone else messing with my hair... its either him or I will be doing it myself.

Ahh i remember that 'dont tell the bride' she did look so much better after she did it herself, Im only getting someone to do it as i DONT own any make up at all! And i thought it would be nice to wear some on the day be abit of suprise for h2b :) I have a hairdressers about 5 minutes walk from me but thay are very expensive to have a hircut with them so i dont know what wedding hair would be.x

I'm lucky enough to have a beauty salon two minutes walk from my house who I heard recently do Bridal makeup. I asked today and they said their prices start at £52 for just the bride. Is that a good deal?
Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)
CommentAuthorKylee27
I'm quite lucky in that my sister is getting married in 4 weeks and the place that we're getting our hair and make up done will be the place that i can get mine done so i can have a bit of a trial run and see if it's better to go to the salon or get them to come to my nans (which will be wedding HQ for my sister and for me next year lol!) One of my friends spent over £100 on Benefit make up and looked stunning on the day and she did it herself so i have that as a back up. :0)
Can't wait to be married!
CommentAuthorbluefish
Hmm, I've seen hair and makeup deals at wedding fairs for £150 to include bridesmaids. Not much of a deal if you ask me. But maybe it's just because the ladies handing out the leaflets looked so tacky!
My plan is to go to one of the make up counters that has tones I like... Lancome, Chanel, Benefit... about two weeks beforehand so that my foundation is the right colour (because I tan really easily) and then buy the odd thing that will enhance my look. I'm lucky that Ed says that I look beautiful without make up - he wants to marry me, not someone who looks fake. So the job needs to be done in a way that looks natural, but beautiful. So, yes, I will be doing my own make up.
Toying with the idea of someone to do my hair though because I've done some practices and can't get it right!!!
CommentAuthormummybez
I went down to my hairdressers today because now not only am I getting my hair done there and also my nails and eyebrows, but now i can also get a facial and pedicure too, what a busy couple of days i'll be having lol. It's not often i get a chance to treat myself so why not for my wedding day
CommentAuthorFuture Mrs Doublé
I am undecided yet, as I just found out there is a beauty salon near home that does airbrush makeup for £45 including trial, and sometimes they do parties at home, so defo will check them out and see if they could come to my home on the day as will have my hair done at home.

Everything is now booked
Getting really stressed and excited now

h2b and i cant decide whos staying where the night before. if i stay at home that m.u. artist will come to me but i will still have to go to same salon for hair. h2b thinks this is a bad idea as he thinks ill be trying to wash pots and hoover whilst getting ready.
if i stay at hotel the night before then i will be driving me and bridesmaids to shop where apparently they dress the chairs and give you champagne whilst being pampered. i really need to sort this out.
all ive got to give to you are these 5 words tonight

My friend is doing my eyelashes for me as she did such a lovely job for a night out a week ago. But will be doing my own make up. My big fear is my hair, need to find someone to do that, but if my hair looks nice I don't wear a lot of make up anyway. I suppose if we were having a proper big "do" at a stately home or something then I would spend the money to get my make up done but because we are getting married at 1pm and then having a garden tea party reception just for the afternoon at our home I don't see the point in spending the money on all the professional make up they use. xx

I'm having my make up and hair done at my mum's where we're all getting ready, she's also doing 3 bridesmiads and my mum's make up but they are doing their hair themselves. I just think it'll be nice to have it done for us, a little bit of pampering on the day :-)

I'm having a friend do my hair (as she is a hairdresser) and I'll be doing my own make up as I've always felt I can do it better. I've had my make up 'professionally' done a few times and they were crap! So lots of £££ there! :D

Actually might look in our Village Link magazine as there might be someone in there who would do make up cheaper than someone who specialises in bridal make up. I did find though that when I had my false eyelashes done, I didn't wear a lot of make up except a bit of light foundation, it saved me a lot of time that I normally spend in making my eyelashes look longer with deceitful mascaras, lol. x
