CommentAuthorEmsy5000
its up to you in a lot of weddings I have been to they have been left behind but you could get cheap edible ones that you can eat later

CommentAuthorMilly87
my mum and dad thought the same as yours as they never had them at their wedding. i was going to have them as my h2b thought they were the tradition but i couldnt be 4rsed with them so instead we have opted for lottery tickets. im making them and having loads of fun! x
CommentAuthorderangedbride
i like the sweets idea and i like the lottery tickets but i'm still stuck
just realised my thing sounds wrong. im not making the actual lottery tickets but the holders! dont think homemade tickets would work when you go to cash them in! lol
CommentAuthorHoxxyhula
You could try Milly :)
I think that they're a relatively new thing. I'm not having them myself, but if I did I'd be focusing on ones that made the table look pretty :)
CommentAuthorderangedbride
lol milly i knew what u ment lol
CommentAuthorHoxxyhula
Milly - how will you feel if someone wins the jackpot with the card that you bought?! x
CommentAuthorMilly87
i would be absolutely gutted, but im hoping that if anyone does win big they will give us a little bit. after all if i hadnt got it for them, they would never have won!! ill guilt trip them into it! lol. or just rob it when they arent looking, they will prob be so p!ssed by then they will just think they lost it, mwhahahahahaha. only joking! maybe.....
CommentAuthorBarbieBride
We will be doing sweets so that they won't be too expensive or left behind xx
CommentAuthorMrs (Dove) Pidgeon
I think they come under the 'nice to haves' rather than essentials and most people won't even realise you haven't got them!!! And the ones who do will forget a couple of minutes later.
Unless they are dedicated wedding nuts!!
Now a extremely happy German housewife and now a Mother!!!!

CommentAuthorkimmy
Ha Ha Milly87 write your name on all the tickets and if they win go halves with them :D
CommentAuthorderangedbride
lol
CommentAuthorMilly87
hey thats a good idea, it has my name on it so technically its mine! i did that with all my stationery at work so no1 could steal it. woop, i now have 70 more chances of winning alot of money! haha x
CommentAuthormcewan07
you could technically do your own lottery, and buy your own prizes and hold your own wee mini lottery.or easier still hold a raffle
CommentAuthorKirky
I'm doing a sweet buffet with little boxes so that people can make their own favours.
CommentAuthorMrsSaraParry!
I'm making chocolates and putting them in organza bags, really cheap! Also we've decided to get the Cancer Research pin favours as many of the people who won't be there at our wedding have died of cancer so we feel its a worthwhile thing to spend money on - but you shouldnt have to have them if you dont want to xxx
CommentAuthorSuzie Bear
I think people will automatically look for them. Yes they are not necessary and as said b4 they will then forget, but people DO look for them! I do. (not in a selfish way) I've only been to weddings with favours. I wouldn't dare comment tho and if someone did I would give them a mouthful!!!
is Mrs Suzie Bear!!!!
Gotta be pink!!! :0)
I think I blinked and missed our wedding!! lol
CommentAuthorsarahwasabride
i dont think people do expect them but i know most do have something for their guests. completely up 2 u hun xxx
CommentAuthorderangedbride
if we where having the sit down meal as well as the night do then i would have done it then but with the wedding at 4pm we're just having the night do
CommentAuthorJilly17
I dont think they are expected at all .... or missed if they are not there. I have been to and planned loads of weddings where favours have been left behind as you cant please all the people all the time! I personally like the idea of donating to charity ...everyone feels good and no waste!
CommentAuthormym72
We're not having them. To be honest I've never been to a wedding where they've had them. I don't think people should expect them - after all you've invited them to share your day and paid for their food, and in some cases, drink. Why give them anything else. The only people we will be buying a gift for is the best man and bridesmaid.
CommentAuthorNatC
I've been a bit undecided on them too, as I'm not having a sit down meal so it's not as if they can be designated! Lol... are they just an additional cost that I could do without?
CommentAuthorNatC
deranged bride.. this is so weird we're getting married on the same day at the same time and only having the eve doo!
CommentAuthorMel D
I'm dead against them ... my mum said that they would be expected ... so my sister (bless her) stepped in to stop a major argument and said that she would arrange to have something made in South Africa where she lives as our wedding present and they would be cheaper than getting something here.
