Hi girls just wondering if everyones doing save the dates or not my moh is doing our invites so i think it would be nice for me and h2b to do our save the dates together x

i sent my STD (save the dates) out a year before and i did them completely different to my actual invites so it wouldn't matter if they don't match what you MOH is doing and it will be nice for you and your OH to do them

Yep I sent my save the dates recently, some are still waiting to be addressed and posted lol. On Saturday it will be exactly one year to my wedding so i think its a good idea doing STD's so everyone has plenty of notice to change plans/get time off work. We made ours, similar to the invites (currently a work in progress!), but not identical. Xx

hey yeh im just waiting another week or so before i send mine out. mine are silver so they dont match my colour scheme which is royal blue. but i did this on purpose so that my colour could be kept a secret for a bit longer lol here are mine
I ordered some free save the dates from a website and they were lovely but I never got round to sending them out and then it was time for the actual invitations to go out. To be honest, its not caused any trouble. Id say as long as you get the invitations out 2 - 3 months before hand you should be fine. Its up to yourself though, if I hadnt have been so lazy I wouldve ordered more and sent them out. We've only had about 3 people who werent able to make it (so far but theres still 3 weeks to go..)

Yeah I have sent some mine out to and mine are just basic ones didnt spend to much on them beacause would rather spend it on making my invites

We are making our own invites and STD. They are going to be similar but it has been planned from the beginning. I will be sending STD in July and invites with Xmas cards, give ppl time to make holiday plans around wedding etc. I have bought A6 card from a website and some foam flowers and ribbons stuck them on and printed out the writing on my printer, simple.
I would advise to get venue/church booked before sending out STD in case they can't fit you in on the date you want esp if weekend.My venue was almost fully booked for the year last April/May time and as we wanted a Saturday we decided to go 2013.

We did StD's as we were getting married in Vegas then having a blessing back home a month later. We wanted to give people the opportunity to save to come out to Vegas if they wanted to. Hubby and I made the StD's and my mum made our invites. It was great fun, but we had a complicated design and it took MUCH longer than we ever thought it would though LOL!

We are having save the dates, with our wedding being a Tuesday. They don't match our invites or colour schemes (mainly because we don't have a colour scheme yet).

We ate having stds and I made them myself although they were complicated to make. I haven't given them out yet and h2b doesn't like them do that was a fail. Oh well, they're going out anyway mainly because they have a link and password to our wedding website and we need guests to book their rooms ASAP, cx.

We got some free from a printing website too just paid for postage, got most of them stuck on our own fridge at the moment though, we handed a few out but haven't got round to posting the rest to people, probably won't bother now!

Little Kettle - Where abouts in Vegas you getting married? my cousin got married there in 2009 & its was really good despite being 6months pregnant!
I was going to do save the date cards & be sending them out on my 21st party however that is saturday lol & i havent even got round to do doing them yet - i am in the middle of moving house too...
Im not getting married till next july, so may do stds for a year to the date and then easter time next year send invites out xxx

We are having them just a simple little card with a ribbon on the front then a little poem on the inside! We arew going to send them out a year to the day of the wedding :-)
