Anyone on here had to apply for an Archbishops special licence to marry? I've just seen that I need one to get wed in my university chapel. Just wondering whether they are usually a pretty straightforward process and what are the chances of the request being rejected! lol x

Hi hun, the Archbishops Licence is granted on the individual circumstances of each couple. As long as you have a connection to the chapel (which you do cus you go to Uni there) It all should be fairly straightforward. Have you got a contact for a member of the clergy who conducts marriages at the chapel?x

Thanks Sazzell, yeah I am in email contact with the vicar there but he's not mentioned it yet, I just found it by chance on the uni website! The first thing that Google threw up was a webpage saying "these licences are a privilege not a right" so was a bit worried there haha! x
