Just after a quick bit of advice. we are getting married in just over 6 months. however we havent been to our venue since we booked and paid our deposit at beginning of january. they havent contacted us to come back and start planning everything yet. when did every1 else start sorting out the little details like menus and timings etc? did you go in for an appointment with your wedding planner? if so when did you do it? im just wondering whether im just jumping the gun a bit or whether i should ring up and find out whats going on as i need to start printing invites etc with menu and times on as im making them myself xx

No harm in ringing. Ive constantly been emailing with small questions to mine. We get married next August and they said it doesnt matter if it is Easter before we go in again- if that helps for time scale.

Ours send out a welcome pack so you can get started with menus how we'd like to decorate etc! If you haven't heard anything I'd definitely give them a ring, just to make sure hey haven't forgotten :) xx

We have a few meetings with our venue that are stated in our contract (none are booked in yet but H2b is going to ring in next few weeks to sort the first one out).

We have meetings at the: 6 month point so I suggest you gave your venue a call?
    8 weeks before
    2 weeks before.

Our contract says that at the 6 month meeting, some key info will be decided including a wedding schedule and a second estimated cost to take into consideration any changes from the booking.

I would email them or phone them for an appointment.

We knew what we wanted food wise, but we went for a tasting about 8 weeks ago just to make sure that it was right for us.

We sent out our invites 6 months before the wedding so end of April beginning of May.

We was up at our venue at least once a month since February, only because we had to sort out different things and the chef had changed and the menus were changing and bits like that. Plus I got to go round the Zoo for free :)
