There is a beautiful resort in Mexico, it's Thompson's Senastori Hotel. When we had a look at getting married abroad it was look about £800 ish for the wedding ontop of the holiday x

Would love to get married in any of the above places-we could afford it but dont think many of our guests would pay out that much to come so wouldnt end up having many people coming with us.

We have booked cyprus instead xx

I've been to Mexico 3 times, to 3 different adult only resorts, and to the Dominican Republic twice, to the same resort. I'm also familiar with most of the resorts in Mexico (though adult-only ones are more my 'specialty' lol), as well as a fair few in Mexico. I've not been to Jamaica as having researched the resorts there, there isn't the same choice or value for money as there is in Mexico and the DR IMPO; the only one I'd really consider staying at would be Sandals or Couples, and both are very expensive; much better value to be hand in Mexico/the DR.

£5000 should get you 2 weeks at a very nice hotel, plus a decent wedding package; the top hotels are typically priced at £1500-2000 pp for 2 weeks, depending on when you travel, with wedding packages costing fro £600-1000 on average. I'm happy to provide recommendations if you can give me some more info eg do your want adult's only (some will allow children in for the wedding, though obviously it would mean that if you have guests with children, they would have to stay at another resort), is the beach important (some beaches in Mexico are not great), do you want to be close to a town (if so, reconsider the DR), etc.

    Hi Kerrie,
My best friend got married in Dom Rep in 2010 and I was MOH. The resort we were in was lovely and the beach wedding scene was amazing!! I would definitely recommend it. It was a very very hot day and I had a long but light dress on and was still melting so my best piece of advice is to go with a shorter dress if you can.

The only thing I didn't like about Dom Rep was being outside of the resort (which is not necessary unless you want to do excursions) as it is very run down (or just not developed I suppose) and I sensed that the locals didn't like us being there. Also the guards in our resort stood with guns, lovely gents but there is something a bit eery about that.
