Hello everyone. I've been looking into having some singing waiters (the people that pretend to be guests or waiters) at the wedding then burst into song/playing instruments/dancing - love actually songs usually i think, when noone expects it... Is anyone having these, or been to a wedding they have been at? Heard the reaction is brilliant, everyone love them. They seem to be quite expensive so want to make sure it's worth it. Thanks xx

we looked into it but decided against it.... when we did our research they were soooo demanding. They wanted a full meal but not just for the duration of the wedding, they wanted meals for the full day?????, all drinks paid for, four rooms for overnight accomodation paid for, plus changing rooms, and travel expenses (that one is fair enough) and then they threw on top of all of this, a couple of grand just for 90 mins. we decided defo not worth it. It just seemed cheeky asking for so much. I know alot of entertainers ask for food but most just help themselves to buffets or just ask that there are sandwiches or something for them available if they are entertaining through the meal of the bridal breakfast and I know a lot ask for free soft drinks but they wanted any drink they wanted. ridiculous x

Hey, my cousin had them for his wedding, they came as guests and after the pudding, one just stood up and started to sing, he walked around and the others stood up and joined in. It was a brilliant way to get the evening party started and everyone joined in dancing. It was really a surprise to everyone, which is lovely to have at a wedding. It's something that everyone still talks about over a year down the line.

That sounds fun but also a long list of demands too. Would really have to check the booking conditions carefully x

Where I work we do the catering for many weddings, and have worked with singing waiters a few times, and they have been a great success!!! They wear the same uniform, and the normal staff, so no guests expect it. and they often compete, say to guest... "get a load of that guy!! who does he think he is just breaking into song when hes working!!, plus i'm better" then they burst into song. They really are a taking point, and really help keep guests entertained, if we could afford them in our budget, we'd have had them.
Hope you do go for them, i'm sure you'll love it x

Oh my god now I want them! That's such a cool idea! If i had money in the budget for it I'd so do it but it is really expensive! Shame none of my talented friends are extroverted enough to do it for me!

I must be crazy giving myself only 6 months!

My husband's cousin had them at her wedding a couple of years ago and they were fabulous! We looked into it but couldn't justify the expense. Think they were called Incognito Artists?

it was just one company...... THE company (it was 3 according to dave not 4)! and we were so horrified that we decided not to bother looking elsewhere. We decided that although it would be nice, to concentrate our efforts into making sure we had the right SQ and the right band so thats what we did. Good luck with your search. Hope you have better luck than we did x
