    Righty I have ordered a bag of white silica fine sand which weighs 10lb!! I have 17 1l jars from ikea that need filling up! Any ideas how many jars I can get out of 1 bag of sand! Maths was never my strong point and I'm getting confused!

    TIA Natz aka 'Stressed Out Bridezilla' xx

    approximatly 4 jars with one bag. 1 litre of water weighs one kilogram - 1 kilogram = 2.2 pounds

    Sadly it's not really a very easy conversion as it's converting weight to volume. I'd say that you'd probably need more like 30lb of sand to fill 17 1L jars.

    1lb = 454g
    1l = 1000ml

    If it were water then you would need 2.2lb of water to fill a 1l jar.

    Ok thank you for your replies ladies! Think I need to order another bag! I don't have to fill the jars to the top neccesarily! Il wait til the first bag turns up and see! xxx
