Hi everyone, getting married in Northampton sometime this year, very small reception, a handful of people. I'm originally from Scotland, via MK, so don't know the place that well. If anyone can let me know of any reasonably priced restaurants / venues that have private dining facilities (ideally a closed off room as there will be a few small children that we don't want to have to keep an eye on every second) that would be amazing.

I live in Northampton :-) What sort of style wedding are you going for? I can recommend as a nice restaurant a place called ******, I'm not sure if they do private functions or not though. It'd be worth checking. The restaurant is part of a posh garden centre type-ish place but it's better than it sounds, we go a lot just for the restaurant for lunch as it's lovely and very reasonably priced. Also the pubs around Brixworth/ Creaton/ Spratton are nice... particularly Spratton actually, there is a lovely pub there and my friend is actually having her reception there.
As far as venues go I don't know what places like ******** are like for small functions, although it is a very popular wedding reception venue and not too badly priced either I don't think, I haven't really looked into it much as my wedding is in Somerset where I'm originally from.
