    Hello!
Can I pick your brains?! We booked our venue in CC a while back but just realised the Bournemouth airshow is on the same weekend. I've an option to swap dates (but have already sent out save the dates). Is it really noisy/distracting or should I be thinking it's a good thing (novelty, conversation starter...)? Also, does traffic get bad round there? The organisers/tourist board are being really vague. All I know is they fly between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers. I don't know what to do!!

Hey. Welcome to the site. I'm not from round there so dont know what it would be like. There would be noise but god I bet that would be good. I would love something like to happen on my wedding day. Would be a great show to see. :)

    That would be so cool!!!

But if your not into the idea then ring everyone with a change of date idea see if it affects your numbers before you change the date officially!

I'm in Dorset though I don't live in Christchurch or Poole way. I went to a Spa day during last years airshow and didnt think traffic was terrible though the local police had coned off side streets to stop people parking.

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

Thanks! Your initial reactions are making me feel much more comfortable about going ahead on that date. I did think I could play it up into the theme and give all the kids paper planes or kites or something to get in the mood! If I changed the date I'd lose 1.5 months of planning time too as it'd be earlier, so I think that could cause it's own stress. I think it's just the shock that made me a bit upset at the time. I was envisioning old army bombing planes drowning out my wedding vows ;)

Liz3yy - Do you know any good hairdressers or florists in Dorset?

I got to a few airshows and yes they are noisy but in a good exciting fun way. I wouldn't say they are enough to drown out your wedding vows though. There tends to be a bit of traffic as you get nearer to the venues and parking can be a nightmare but I don't think that it would effect your day that much as most of the traffic will be early in the morning as people like to get there early and they leave later on when you should be married and going to your reception venue etc.

Hi mon, welcome to the site.

My grandparents live in Christchurch and I've watched alot of the show from there back garden. It can be noisy but depends exactly where you are and if your inside etc, but it's good fun and you could work it all into your wedding!

As for the traffic, it is alot worse than usual, side roads get closed but you'd only need the main roads to get to your venue and I'm sure your venue will have parking?

    xx

Hi Mon, I live in Sturminster Newton near Blandford. I use a hairdresser in town called Simply Hair, the owner Emma is brilliant and always does a good job. I'm using her for my wedding and she also knows people who make tiaras. I don't know if she would travel to Christchurch but she's worth knowing about x
