Following on from a thread a few days ago about flight prices. I have never had experience of flying with Easyjet. Looking on their website I could basically save just over £100 per person and for 7 people to pay for I am seriously considering ignoring my uncles advice and booking with them. I know one or two mentioned on here they had flown with them in the past and just wondered what their experiences are? Are there any hidden charges when you get to the airport? Is there anything different or other stipulations to any other airline??? Any advice or info greatly appreciated. xx

We flew with them in Feb to the Netherlands, no problems. You book how many bags you want to take when you book your tickets and you pay a set price per bag. Can't remember any hidden costs and certainly didn't pay any extra when we got to the airport, guess you would if your bag was over the weight limit but you'd have to do that with any airline. It's fine, as long as you're not expecting in flight luxury, you do get what you pay for! Basic but gets you from A-B with no frills but cheap!
We'd certainly fly with them again.

Surprised me really. I thought most airlines included 20kg luggage but looking on Thomson even they charge seperate for hold luggage. Do easyjet charge any further taxes or fees? xx

You could always go through a booking on line and check all the charges,if you get to the "pay" bit and aren't happy you can just cancel it all.

I flew to Egypt with them and found them much better than Ryan Air. Yes there are the charges for baggage and they also charge you for 'priority boarding' (which you may need to ensure you all get to sit together), but to be honest, I'd seriously consider it. Make sure you can pay on a Electron card and you won;t pay and credit/debit card charges which can be massive ;)
We'd fly with them again. Hx

i flew with them last may, but i wasnt the one who booked the holiday so i dont know about charges. i know a lot of airlines have changed their policies this last year so probably wouldnt apply to what i know anyway.
the actual flight itself was fine. a bit of a free for all at gatwick to get onto the plane lol no queues just bundle towards the desk lol but the flight itself was fine no problems there! i would fly with them again x

I think that if you are booking for other 10 people you have to call their group booking line. I flew with them to Amsterdam and when we booked we did it by booking 4 people at a time.

You can pay for extra baggage in advance and it works out rather cheap but if you go over they will charge you a fortune at the airport. For the extra £20 or so it costs it is worth paying to have the extra luggage. TBH they are just as good as anyone else and for short flights you don't need anything more so I would go with them and save some money.

Easy Jet have no more 'hidden extras' than any other airline these days. Taxes etc are included in the fare that you see and select on their website (Ryan Air add this on, it drives me mad), the only real extras are 'speedy boarding' (with Easy Jet you can't book seats so they're first come first served; by paying about £10 each way you get priority boarding so should be able to sit together no problem; however, I've never booked it, and I've always been able to sit with whoever I'm travelling with, just get to the gate asap after the flight is called), and they charge for baggage, as do airlines like Thomson, as you've found. Their hand baggage allowance is generous though, with no weight limit, so you can bring stuff in your hand luggage.

I would check with them if you can bring a dress separately if you need to as I'm not sure of their policy on this; however, they might be able to book you an extra piece of luggage to cover it, so ring them to find out.

I've flown with EasyJet a few times, as have my parents and friends, and actually I rate them; I find their customer service good, and they don't have hidden extras. They also handled last years volcanic ash situation really well in comparison to many other airlines/companies, like Ryan Air, British Airways, and Thomson; I wouldn't hesitate to book with them. Yes it's no frills, but most airlines are no frills these days; Thomas Cook for eg have recently removed all in-flight entertainment from flights shorter than 6 hours.

I've flown with British Airways, Thomson, Monarch, Thomas Cook,First Choice, Air France, Virgin, and EasyJet, and would rate the quality of EasyJet as the same as the others (bar Virgin which is superior, but their customer service is diabolical), but it's much cheaper so much better value for money

The only thing I would say is that if you have any one that is disabled then you need to advice them in advance as they can only fly so many people with limited mobility at a time. You can also book a lift to get them on and off the plane to either end and they make sure you all sit near each other then too.

We have flew with them a few times and found them to be fine. They were only short journeys tho, one only being to France with r little boy who we took to Disneyland last year for his second birthday. Had no problems really apart from staff making us wake him from lying on me and having to put him in his own seat to land which was a pain but I suppose it's the rules. He wasnt allowed his own seat on the way tho as he only turned 2 whilst we were in france.Would definatly fly with them again.

thing i detest with all the airlines is that they charage you for checking in baggage...how is that fair when we go on holiday course we're goin to be bringing luggage with us yet thats another set amount of money thrown away to them purely out of greed!!!

I've flown with easyjet a few times. The last time was in September and we flew to Portugal and back, tickets cost £48 return per person. I had hand luggage and 2 big suitcases between us. The flight was fine and we got to sit together and even had an extra seat x

iv flown with easyjet to amsterdam and spain before and had no problem whatsoever. no hidden charges, friendly staff, allocated seats. no meals on board but they have a buffet like trains do. i would fly with them again no problem. Ryanair on the other hand would big a massive no no to fly with again from 2 personal experiences with them.

My H2B is a pilot for easyjet so I fly with them quite a lot (he is not based in England so I fly out to visit him but we also sometimes go away on cheap nights away with them!) They are as lots of people have said a no frills airline, nothing fancy but get you there at a reasonable price. Taxes etc are always included in the price and always book your baggage in advance like others have said. The onboard food/drinks are fairly expensive but similar to prices on trains etc. I almost always take my own drinks/snacks with me if I think I'll want something - usually a boots meal deal from the terminal! They have a much better reputation than ryanair as far as i'm aware.
Also, quite a few years ago (before H2B) I was in Geneva with two friends and our flight was cancelled due to poor weather in Newcastle. We were put up in a 4 star hotel at no expense to us, and were given money for meals etc, and were given the option of flying the next day to East Midlands (which was actually nearer to home for me so I took it) or staying for 2 extra nights for another Newcastle flight, with our hotel etc paid for. I was really surprised with the service that was offered!!

No extra charges other than the baggage, but that's the same as many other airlines these days. Make sure you look carefully at the flights - in February, Easyjet were pretty much the only airline flying to Paphos (there are more operators in the summer) and other airlines like Thomson were simply selling tickets for the Easyjet flight. We're going Thomson in August because we got them on sale, otherwise we'd have used Easyjet again.

Don't bother with speedy boarding - it's a free for all when you get on the plane. OK you're at the front of the queue this end but all it means from Paphos is you get on the bus first - which is then filled up with the first people that haven't paid for speedy boarding!! Meals on board aren't particularly cheap, but you can take your own snacks and drinks bought marginally cheaper in the airport. When you first get on, if only two of you are going to sit on a row of three, take the window seat and aisle seat - someone is less likely to join you! And if they have to, one of you can move - it's worth a try to get the extra seat to stretch into! Oh and Paphos airport is very basic. The departures lounge fronts onto the airfield and the 'gates' are just different doors where the bus will stop! LOL

Save yourself the money and book with Easyjet - the only thing which someone else mentioned is to call them about putting your wedding dress in separately - although I'd be inclined to find something to carry it in at the right size and take it as your hand luggage. Things can go wrong whatever airline you fly with - just check what the rules are and be early, just the same as you would anyway. Good luck xx
